"We had a lovely stay, the place was nice, it was close to some lovely walks on the beach and in nature parks. We liked our hot tub but it was just a tad too hot and it wouldn’t cool down with the controls, we even left the top open and it stayed at 40 degrees, we couldn’t stay in for very long. The shower was either boiling or freezing but we still enjoyed and can’t wait to go back some day :)"

"My daughter and I stayed in the Orme lodge, it was lovely. Nice and warm, squirrels outside the windows. Hot tub is just a hot tub - not one with bubbles! so don't look for a button to press lol Very peaceful. If you go with kids (i went with teenager) then maybe take a laptop to watch netflix etc on. wifi connection great. Don't wear sliders on your feet when trying to do the fire or else you will slip on the mud which is hilarious to a teenager btw. Hot tub takes about 4 hours to...

"The shower in the room and wash hand basin were very small , other than that it was clean and tidy and the staff were excellent"

"This is not a 4 star hotel. The rooms are dated and definitely not as clean as you would like. The bathroom was in terrible condition with the bath all stained and the sink chipped. The walls are so thin you can the conversations of the people in the room next door. The pool and changing rooms were so dirty and poorly maintained. The breakfast was so bad, nothing felt fresh and all the food had clearly been sat out for a while. The only saving grace for this hotel is the staff, all of whom were really friendly and helpful."

"The whole hotel could do with a massive refurbishment, however, then the prices would go up, so it's cheap n cheerful. The staff were superb; no issue was any trouble. I had a problem with the door lock (couldn't swipe in), they sent a maintenance man out and he sorted it quickly. I also pointed out a few other issues with the room, which he assured me would be rectified upon my departure. We ate in the bar area, good service, friendly staff again. Can't fault the friendliness of the place. Food was tasty and well presented. The room itself was tired, and the bathroom did need a real deep clean, mould in places. But the beds were comfortable and smelt clean. A few stains on the carpet and walls in places - but I'm just being picky. We didn't have breakfast on the last stay, but previously, it's been edible and hot. Bonus, free parking and plenty of it. I will be staying here every time I come to Chester as it's near my daughter and grandchildren."
