"We walked in an apartment with dust and dirt on the floor, mould behind toilet door, mould on kitchen glass tray. They said this apartment was closed for some time. Housekeeping staff should be trained to check on details. Would not recommend for families who are particular about cleanliness. The management needs to take feedback seriously without giving excuses for lapses."

"Importantly the floor - beautiful white floor tiles 2ftX2ft were everywhere and gave a very impressive upscale appearance. The furniture was moderate, and the staff were friendly and courteous. They could improve the TV by adding two more Sri Lankan channels, there were too many channels with foreign languages no local guests understands. If they could re-start the restaurant, they could attract more guests. Thank you - Steve from USA, stayed 18 nights"

"On a adoré notre séjour à Anam Hôtel ! On y a passé 10 jours. On a pu se reposer. L’hôtel se situe à quelques mètres de la plage, où on peut y voir des magnifiques coucher de soleil le soir. Le personnel de l’hôtel est juste super super gentil. Il y a une cuisine que l’on peut utiliser, mais aussi une machine à laver dont on peut se servir. Allez-y les yeux fermés, vous ne regretterez rien."

"I recently visited Colombo for 5 days in October 2025 and stayed at 50 by the Sea - Had an excellent stay there and all my expectations were met - at times went above the expectations also. The apartment looks very new, is very well maintained and most importantly, its extremely clean. Ive visited Colombo many times and many times, I faced the issue of not so clean bathrooms at some residences - at 50 by the Sea, the bathrooms were so clean and neat that it looked like a 5 star hotel's washroom ( I am from luxury hospitality background, so I can assure you of this high, comparable quality at this place ) - The staff were extremely polite and helpful - I had a few encounters with their housekeeping team and security team - very warm, friendly and helpful. I requested for a few things during my stay and got immediate assistance. The Reservations Manager, Ms Shehara is very kind & approachable - she would often call me to check how I was doing and if everything was ok .
The rooms are good in size for single travelers and couples - overlooking the Mt Lavinia beach and beautiful sea view.
Any drawbacks ? Well, depending on what you are looking for :
* The facility doesn't have its own dining outlet - which is not a big issue as there are many outlets nearby , walking distance.
* The accommodation is very close to the Mt Lavinia Railway track so there is plenty of noise - may disturb some and some may find it hard to sleep - for me it was not a big issue "
