If you are looking for a place to stay close to the old town then this property is an excellent choice. Only 5 mins or less you are in the town square and can enjoy many nice restaurants and cafes among the beautiful scenes of the city. The hotel is very clean, modern but has a rustic charm. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast offers a large selection of options both hot and cold to meet anyone’s requirements. And the wellness spa was very relaxing. 5 stars in my books!

The Hotel Nicolaus is very close to the centre of Torun. The building has been nicely renovated and our room was a good size. But a couple of things let it down in it’s 4 star rating - Only 2 towels and no bath mat or hand towel in bathroom. Several things didn’t work in room - 2 lights and tv remote. Cleaning is by a system in room which lights up when u request cleaning. we did this but room still wasn’t cleaned. Staff were often not around and didn’t appear very happy to be there. ( may just have hit a bad day) I loved the boutique feel of hotel but it just missed the mark on a couple of things. However, stay wasn’t spoiled by this.

Great location modern hotel

Quite modern hotel which I like. However in the bathroom there is very limited space on the tiny shelves and only one tower hanger near the sink. The breakfast buffet was lovely with many choices, with fresh fruits which was great as I am vegetarian and eat fruit for breakfast. I stayed there 4 nights and once my room wasn't cleaned which was disappointing. However the receptionist brought me fresh towers, tea bags, water bottles and shower gel. She also changed my bin when I asked. That's why I gave 4 stars.

The hotel is announced as having air conditioning but they do not allow you to use it. It's turned off by the staff, even though there is a individual control for it in every room. They say it's only available in the summer.

Over all was ok but unfortunately there was some hiccup. Ac wasn’t working and they didn’t even have portable fan units that you can use in case of ac unit issues. Also in bathroom there was no any shampoos or body wash! Definitely would not recommend it for more than one night stay

Distinguish hotel in the heart of city

Bark beetles gnaw wooden beams in the room but notig fallen yet :) Doors locked on physical keys so you have to remember to lock them when you come in. Only a few parking spots outside without reservation possiblity. Also: very stylish rooms and whole hotel. Great restaurant, private sauna with jacuzzi (additional fees required), only several meters to old town and bicycles for rental if you need.

Torun is beautiful but this was the most disappointing hotel on our trip for a 4star hotel. The staff seemed inexperienced. They wanted us to ask for our room to be cleaned (4 star!) using a computer system they did not explain. The manager seemed to resent our complaint when they failed to clean the room and found it difficult to apologise for our treatment when giving us a partial refund. I hope they improve.
