「Check in supposed to be 4pm and still trying to contact landlord at 4.30pm to gain access. Smoke detector off wall and sat on stairs, leaky radiator with a glass under to catch drips, damaged flooring. Dirty throughout. Not good.」

「Location worked well for us. Small room with en-suite. Out the back for a country pub. Ample parking nearby. Room not great at keeping noise out - could hear footsteps overhead from residents upstairs and voices carried across the count yard late at night. As it was warm needed to windows open so more easily disturbed by noise. The bed was super creaky too, which was annoying and disturbing in the dead of night! 「Very friendly reception from the landlord Gareth who provided a most enlivening atmosphere in the Duke of Wellington ie a darts match for the men and Easter wreath making for the ladies. No food unfortunately but we found an excellent Italian restaurant in nearby Northallerton. The courtyard room was clean and comfortable, marred only by a very awkward shower - not easy to enter, due to lack of space.」

「Nearest shops are in Bedale but there is fantastic pub in the village, the landlord is a great bloke as are the folk from the village was made to feel very welcome 」

「Enclosed and secure garden for the dog was a real plus, the cottage was very private with lovely views and all amenities. Check with was smooth and the host is lovely. 」
