"Staff friendly and helpful. Food was good quality and very tasty. Facilities good and you do expect the odd issue with an old, historic and protected building however the lift being out of order for at least a week (not working when we left) did cause some guests real problems"

"This is a stunning property in a superb location. The common parts of the main building are just fabulous and worth exploring. Staff are just lovely. We were staying in Rhianfa Lodge within the hotel grounds and whilst the room was clean and comfortable, the TV had reception problems that the staff tried very hard to fix but it persisted. Breakfast was disappointing with rock hard inedible bacon and strange consistency to the scrambled eggs although the croissants and coffee were the best I've had in the UK. The only other issue was noise disturbance when other rooms ran showers or flushed loos."

"Parking excellent at this property and grounds beautifully maintained. Our hosts were extremely helpful with a friendly welcome. We stayed in the twin bed en suite bedroom. The water was always hot which was welcome and the room at a comfortable temperature. The ensuite shower and toilet space small. Theywere very adaptable to people's needs and wishes for breakfasts, which were excellent in quality and quantity. A very good siting from which to explore each direction of north Wales.We had an excellent stay."

"The property was clean and the room had nice sea views. The rooms are in a converted house next to the Indian restaurant at the site. They are as mentioned in the description accessed via stairs .. quite a few although was offered help with bags. The main negative factor is the location. We arrived and witnessed an altercation on the street in the mid-afternoon with a women punched in the face. The police attended. We looked for other food options but only fish and chips available nearby. which were good but not much choice of eateries near by. We booked for two nights stay but found a better option out of Bangor for the second night. Not a reflection on the accommodation or staff but rather the location."

"Not the smartest hotel in the world but it makes up for this by the friendliness of the welcome with good sized clean and comfortable rooms that have an individuality not found in modern hotels. The barroom downstairs has a good selection of drinks and there are bar billiards tables. Just be aware there is no lift so stairs to rooms must be managed. After a good nights sleep breakfast awaits exactly as you ordered it"
