"Our room was what we expected for a NYC hotel room in terms of size. The bathroom is pretty small, but it was clean. Our room was on the 10th floor, and you could hear the people on the streets and sirens a little more, but we were able to adjust to the noise and sleep comfortably on the beds. The hotel elevators sounded a little questionable at times due to the noises they made. We noticed there were usually 2-3 security personnel at the hotel entrance each evening, which made us feel safer. The staff that we spoke to were very friendly! One of the housekeeping staff members always greeted us in the hall each morning, and I really wish I had gotten her name to credit her for how kind she was to us. We loved the 1940's vibe that you get when you walk into the hotel lobby. They played big band music, and you felt as if you were transported back in time. There are some awesome restaurants right around the hotel and an amazing Gelato shop right next door. We would stay here again."

"Under construction for remodel no lobby seating constant noise from machines, checking in and out chaos. Single door for arrival and departures of guest. No waiting area. Breakfast buffet adequate but extremely crowded. Small request unfulfilled. Probably will be better after remodeling but had I know I would have booked a more comfortable lodging experience. Expedia should have warned of these issues."

"DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL. UNFOUNDED FRAUDULENT CHARGES. I am a 50 year old woman from Chicago that stayed at Arthouse Hotel with a friend from April 17-19, 2026. After leaving the hotel, I received a charge for hundreds of dollars for ‘incidentals.’ I promptly contacted the front desk manager and was told it was due to a ‘smoking fine’ on Saturday evening at 7:14pm, when their NoiseAware/Rest AI detector went off. I explained that no one smoked, vaped or lit anything on fire throughout the entirety of our stay. In fact, at 7:14pm on Saturday, we were both blow drying our hair and using hairspray, as well as dry shampoo, getting ready to depart at 7:30pm. No one from the hotel came to our room to investigate or verify this alleged ‘alarm’ on Saturday evening. Furthermore, there was no indication of an ‘alarm’ in our room. The front desk manager informed me that they are standing by their AI ‘smoke detector’ as it detected a ‘change in air quality in our room’ and the charges will not be reversed. I have emailed 5 members of management requesting the ‘alarm report’, as well as a resolution to this unfounded charge. I have not heard back. I have also disputed the charges on my credit card, as well as filed complaints with Federal Trade Commission, NY State Attorney General’s Office, NYC 311, Better Business Bureau and NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection. This hotel has other complaints with the last 2 months for the same issue. This is fraud."
