Beautiful views, amazing gardens, fabulous pool and friendly staff. Good location between the beach and the town - walk down to the cable car to avoid the steps up to town. Spent many happy hours just at the hotel on the balcony looking at the beautiful view and using the pool. If you love cacti then this is the place for you!

We loved Terra Rossa! The grounds were beautiful, the pool was lovely, and the apartments were stylish. Only things I can offer to mention is that there is a steep 10 min. hike down to the beach or up to the town center— but it’s good exercise! Also, we tried to keep the kitchen clean but still got ants (in a damp dish towel). We would definitely stay there again.

I couldn’t falter my stay at Terra Rossa. A small residence set among beautiful gardens with great views. We had a studio overlooking the Isola Bella Island. The patio is perfect sized for an evening unwind. The studio provides everything you need and is cool. The pool area is never too busy. Staff are friendly and helpful.

We had a wonderful 12 days in residence 1, a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment with kitchenette. The view from the balcony was absolutely fabulous! It was a joy to sit out and look over Isola Bella beach! The grounds are beautiful and lush with well maintained gardens and the pool area was perfect! There were plenty of umbrellas and chairs and it was never too busy so was quiet and relaxing, also a gorgeous seaview. The walk down the Isola Bella beach or up to Taormina was definitely a challenge with more than 300 stairs each way but we didnt mind as it allowed us to walk off all the pizza, pasta and gelato we consumed! Overall I highly recommend Terra Rossa as a great place to stay as a base to explore stunning Taormina.

'Value for money' hotel with a beautiful sea view.

What a pearl! Such a beautiful residence in between the Taormina beach and Taormina village. Lovely pool area and great staff. Would love to come again.

Beautifully maintained property and gardens. We stayed in a panoramic apartment which had the best of views from each window and balcony. A haven away from the main area of Taormina which was busy during our stay.

Steep hill but AMAZING

Genuinely amazing property. Beautiful views everywhere! Amazing owner with communication. Only thing to note is that it’s important to be able to walk up steep hills if staying here. More than worth it.

Nice place to be based. Views to die for. Suites are a little dated, but overall cannot be faulted. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The Residence Terra Rossa is halfway between The town of Taormina and the beach at Isola Bella which meant very steep walking to either of the places.

This property is ideal for a quiet break. the gardens and views are really remarkable. The area is so quiet. Its probably not so great with children as there are 200 steps to town or same to beach otherwise its taxis which cost a bit. Breakfast was great for the view, pehaps a little pricey for the content. Beers and wines from reception were great value. The nearby beaches are very crowded.The town of Catania is beautiful, less busy at night than daytime. The theatro is splendid. Would come again.

We spent an idyllic week at Residence Terra Rossa in April. We found the landscaped gardens inside the gated property to be delightfully peaceful with beautiful views of the coast below. The manager was extremely helpful with directions and information ahead of our arrival, making our late evening arrival and self check-in very smooth and stress free. The pool was lovely, if a little chilly at this time of year. Breakfasts were excellent, and such a beautiful vista to sit and eat on their terrace. All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful, and language was never a problem for us (being only English speakers). We enjoyed walking down the steps to the beach, and up the steps to the old town. A lot of steps as Taormina is such a steep hillside town, but it meant we did not need to drive around or worry about parking. We were a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teens) and would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful views - no service

Check in closes at 20.00 Instructions for our late check in were shared late. Getting on the plane without knowing how to access the room the same night didn't feel great. The location of the hotel comes with absolutely amazing views! We loved it. However, the climb from the beach/up to Taormina via stairs is, as all reviews say, not to be under estimated. Good cardio but forget about high heels. Driving to the hotel is by a steep and narrow road. Made me wish I had a religion. Rooms are cute and cosy. Pool area and garden so beautiful. Breakfast is EUR 15 per person - very expensive vs quality of offer. We stayed 8 nights and room was cleaned once. Asked for a change of towels on day 4 (...) as there is a sign in the room stating that it's possible. Answer from reception was that "change happens according to schedule". So you can ask for it - but the schedule will hold. There is no replenishment of toilet paper in 8 days. You can ask for it. Guests are asked to sort and throw the garbage from room. It's all DIY for guests. In short: location heavenly - service not what you would expect in a hotel

We had a fantastic stay at Residence Terra Rossa. The views were breathtaking. Our room and the grounds were spotless clean. We traveled with our kids (ages 6, 8, 10) and we are an active family so we had no issues with the vast number of stairs. In fact we really enjoyed the walks home to burn off all the pasta and gelato. We enjoyed the breakfast each day (it was pricey for our family of 5 at 15 Euros per person, but we did it anyways for convenience and because we needed fuel and coffee before trekking up the stairs). We could have gotten groceries for room as it had a full kitchen but we decided not to. We swam in the pool every day and loved it. The air conditioning was super strong and our room was perfectly cold. Our bed layout was perfect for 3 kids with each having their own single bed. We had a rental car and opted to park up the street in the free lot which was great (no issues with the free lot) and there is a little snack stand there where we get coffee and cocktails to take on our walks. If I had to list cons they would be as follows: 1) the after hours check-in instructions were provided after we already took off on our flight which made me a bit nervous - I subsequently had to provide visa details during our layover - I was already using an e-Sim and I had to roam to get a text to approve payment - not the end of the world but I would have liked to have this sorted before leaving my house. 2)the drive out of Toarmina takes 20 minutes on narrow roads

On arrival the gentleman on reception was engaging, friendly and welcoming. This was a really nice simple start considering a flight diversion from Catania to Palmero courtesy of Etna and longer than planned hot travel to a relatively unknown accommodation setting. The room was as per pictures and was clean, spacious and well thought out with good cooking facilities and air con. In addition it had UPVC doors and windows behind the slated traditional doors which meant it was secure and that the Sicilian heat was kept out of the living space. It also ensured there were no mosquitoes or bugs. The balcony with a sea view was picturesque framed by wisteria. The residence itself was very clean and aesthetically pleasing. The pool was kept clean and the attention to detail by staff was impressive as every evening communal areas were cleaned to a high standard. The staff were friendly and on hand and helpful with any query. The pool area was spacious and there was a variety of seating and sun lounging options with shade available. The views from the pool were of Isola Bella. Terra Rosa was located approximately halfway between the beach and town. To explore Taormina from beach to town involves climbing 599 steps (my daughter counted) or you can take a taxi or cable car. All in all the residence was beautiful and low key, perfectly suited to families/couples or persons wanting to explore Taormina. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our stay overall, lovely apartment and beautifully kept gardens / pool area, with a stunning view over Isola Bella. All staff were friendly and helpful. The location worked well for us as a base to explore Taormina and visit Isola Bella beach. Parking was easy, spacious free car park short walk from the residence. We were advised by reception not to drive into Taormina centre, but to use taxi / cable car instead. However, we found it much more convenient to drive. Parking in the centre is not an issue as there are large car parks (e.g. Porta Catania) that charge reasonable prices - cheaper than taxi / cable car for a group.

We had room 16 (panoramic room) and the views were amazing. This property is mid way between the beach & town, an excellent location. The pool is fantastic, again with a great views of the bay. The only downside was the cable cars not working !! Lots of steps but kept us fit.
