An oasis between Tamarindo and Flamingo

Casa Mapache is a lovely place managed by lovely people. The spacious, clean room had a king size bed and two twin beds, which was perfect for our family of four with two "tween" boys who don't want to share a bed if they don't have to! The A/C and ceiling fan kept us plenty cool. The bathroom was huge, with two showers! -- what a nice feature. There was plenty of hot water and good water pressure Our favorite part was the pool! The water was much cooler and more refreshing than most of the hotel pools that we encountered. And the pool is longer than most, so you can actually do some legitimate swimming. While lounging around the pool area, we were entertained by a family of howler monkeys that was making the rounds through the trees surrounding the property. The hotel is managed by a very nice family who takes great pride in what they do. The breakfast was delicious and the presentation was lovely. The French toast was a pleasant surprise. My only complaint is that the place is called a B&B, yet they charge for breakfast. Perhaps it should just be called a B? The son of the owner (sorry, I'm bad with names) was very helpful throughout our stay and I would like to give him special thanks for pointing us to his favorite beach in the area, which turned out to be our favorite beach on our whole trip! I'm not saying where it is -- you will have to go to Casa Mapache and ask him yourself!

Friendly and Welcoming!

We had a fantastic stay at Casa Mapache B&B! Everyone was super friendly and helpful, including the kind gardener. The place was quiet, clean and very comfortable. The owners went above and beyond expectations to take care of our every need and question. They were very helpful! Merci beaucoup!

Yes, book it! The room was beautiful and large, king sized and comfy bed, very clean, AC and hot water. Lovely pool and grounds. Secluded and peaceful, but close to town (too far to walk-maybe 6km?). Adorable and sweet kitty that my kids loved (who seemed to love us too) and best of all, a great staff! The men who own the place speak English, Spanish, and French, were very friendly and there when we needed them. Upon arrival they offered to do all of our laundry and in 1.5 hrs it was delivered to our door folded and fresh for no extra charge! The groundskeeper also showed my kids a big fat caterpillar he came across while working and even brought us fresh coconuts by the pool. We loved it so much, we stayed an extra night! Only downside was weak WiFi, but a very short and lovely walk into the garden or poolside gave us all we needed to upload photos or research our next destination while enjoying the birds, lizards and butterflies. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it for all travelers!

Excelente opcion cerca de todo..!

Una estadia placentera y agradable. El unico detalle mas no un problema fue el WiFi que en mi habitacion costaba un poco conectarse. Pero en realidad la estadia, la amabilidad, la atencion y el lugar en general supero mis expectativas. Y el hotel tiene acabados muy finos dentro de las habitaciones. Muy recomendado tanto en familia, amigos o negocios.

This is a real gem / oasis away from the noisy beach but close enough to be such a practical hotel. The place is so beautiful with flowers everywhere with a perfect pool. The young French couple owner are so sweet and great hosts

Casa Mapache:Un petit coin de paradis Durant notre périple de 2 semaines au Costa-rica, casa Mapache a été notre meilleure trouvaille - au calme et à moins d’un quart d’heure de superbes plages comme Playa grande (notre préférée) et Conchal (côte Matapalo est vraiment top). Le petit déjeuner fait maison est de qualité, très copieux et varié Merci à Coralie et Thibault pour leur gentillesse et accueil

El lugar es esplendido, uns pidcins muy linda y un parque muy bien cuidado. La habitación fue muy comoda y es muy destacable la limpieza. La unica contra es que el wifi era intermitente o casi nulo y solo conseguia buena señal cerca de la recepción. Es necesario ir con auto ya que en los alrededores no hay nada en absoluto, pero se encuentra entre 10 y 30 minutos de todas las playas del norte de Guanacaste.

Very nice property and room. The room was spacious and comfortable- ours had a small kitchenette with sink and small fridge (no microwave or stove). Beds were comfortable. The property is behind a gate so it feels secure. Owners live on the property and are very attentive and work to anticipate your needs. This in conjunction with the fact that it seems to be a very small resort, sometimes it felt as though we were almost being watched in case we needed anything. I like to be a little more anonymous, so this is my only nitpick. Breakfast was an extra charge, but tasty. There is a buffet setup for some items, and they will cook eggs/pancakes/french toast as you request.

En cuanto a la atención brindado por Tibo uno de los dueños del hotel, siempre amable y con excelente sentido de servicio, siempre a colaborar. Instalaciones seguras, parqueo privado, habitaciones muy limpias, ordenadas, todos los días recibíamos servicio de habitación, limpieza y cambio de paños. Zonas en común limpias y cuidadas. Volvería a visitar de nuevo el establecimiento.

A great laidback place for vacation for couples or families. The staff is really amazing and very attentive. Breakfast is homemade and delicious. The pool was very calming with perfect temperature. Really quite and peaceful. We stayed there for 2 nights and were very sorry to leave. We will definitely get back. The only problem was a bit of an ant problem around the property.

Casa Mapache is not in walking distance to anything. The property is beautiful and full of birds and insects. It is very exotic and i did have problems with insects in my room, however, i kind of expected it since it is located in the center of the woods. Nice pool. Nice people. Delicious breakfast. Secluded hideaway. Car needed.

The hosts were a delight! Stephanie always came to greet us yet gave us the space we needed. The breakfasts were delicious! Homemade jams, freshly baked bread, fresh fruit, and eggs how you want them. The grounds were in immaculate shape!
