It is 15 min drive from the center, and many restaurants and a night market is about 5 min drive from the hotel. My room (premier suite) was huge and was sitting on the edge of the sea. At the balcony, I could hear waves, and could see fishing boats. And every morning, many hornbills visited the hotel restaurant. The staff members were friendly and very helpful. Pangkor Seafood Cuisine, 7-Eleven, and KFC are just downstairs. 10 mins walk to the beach and 19 to ferry. The service is great! The staff contacted for check-in before arrival. 「Like many here said, this hotel it’s ok if you just want a place to sleep. The pillows should be replaced with new ones already, since the one I received were very thin and clumpy. Sound proofing is poor, as first night we kept getting woken up by seemingly drunken guests (the hotel is surrounded by bars/pubs). I’ve stayed in other budget hotels which were comfortable, but I can’t say the same for Sam Hotel. 」
