Very nice, large, clean rooms – very friendly welcome and very nice hosts. We were completely satisfied and enjoyed our stay very much. The breakfast was also excellent. Whenever we are near Swellendam again, we would definitely stay there again.

The place to stay in Swellendam

Sorry we were only spending one night in this wonderful place. From the warm welcome by the owner on arrival, restaurant recommendation for the evening and freshly squeezed orange juice from their own orchard as part of the delicious breakfast, and did I mention really comfy beds, it was a real find. I would highly recommend.

The perfect retreat !

This place is the perfect retreat! Very friendly management, situated in a beautiful park-like area, very nice and clean room and bathroom, nice pool, good and fresh breakfast. We can wholeheartedly recommend Bloomestate!

Lovely and friendly owners, the grounds are extensive with beautiful gardens, the facilities are superb as well as being vey secure with a gated entrance. The pool and deck area are very inviting. Our room was lovely and spacious with all the amenities necessary for a pleasant stay. There was tea and coffee available plus a fridge and an honesty bar. The bed was very comfortable and the shower in the spacious bathroom was excellent. There is a guest lounge also with tea and coffee and an honesty bar. It is also very spacious and comfortable. The dining room for breakfast is also lovely as was the delicious breakfast with plenty to start with and a good choice for a cooked breakfast. All in all a lovely guesthouse run by people that care and cater for one’s needs. Many thanks.

This is a very special place. The hosts are a lovely warm hospitable couple who have planned everything with great thought and and fine eye for quality and detail. The whole property is spacious and serene. The rooms and bathrooms spacious and beautifully styled. The breakfasts are amazing - a huge choice of specialist teas, homemade granola, preserves and pastries, cheeses, the most fantastic seedy bread! And a great range of very tasty well cooked hot options. All served in a light and airy sunny room overlooking the gardens. The pool is perfect with sufficient loungers for all the rooms spaced for maximum privacy. The grounds are very secluded and private, with lovely trees, shrubs and water features attracting a myriad of birdlife. It is a lovely lovely place.

Hidden Gem on the Garden Route

We stayed at Bloomestate on our way along the garden route. I booked this hotel because of the positive reviews on Hotels.com and Trip Advisor. Bloomestate really is a "hidden gem" and I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to experience a luxurious and unique accommodation. Our hosts, Maarten and Carla were wonderful, friendly and helpful. The home made breakfast in the morning is awesome and sets you up for the day. I will certainly stay again when I am in the area.

Voor de tweede keer hier verbleven op onze roadtrip Western Cape. Ligt gunstig, mooie omgeving. De kamers zijn comfortabel, heerlijk ontbijt. Carla en Maarten zijn heel professioneel en geven je veel informatie en tips voor de omgeving en maken zo nodig reserveringen in goede restaurants. Gaan zeker terug!

Oasis along N2

We stopped here for one night on our journey along the Garden Route and it as a gorgeous hotel with beautiful decor. It has a great outdoor pool and jacuzzi and beautiful gardens to relax in - including a hammock! Breakfast was amazing - not just delicious but presentation was a work of art. The owners are lovely, helpful with restaurant and visit tips and really take pride in what they do. The town in of itself is nothing special but Bloom Estate was definitely a little oasis of peace and beauty along the N2.

Comforting overnight stop.

One-night stop on a car tour of the Garden Route. Owners/operators were charming, breakfast was well-laid, too early in the season to try the pool. Room was modern and well-planned.

We were so comfortable here. The host are very accommodating, the grounds lovely, the room modern and comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic!! A great place to relax.
