「An interesting, slightly quirky but genuine old-style coaching house and all the better for it. Staff are excellent, breakfast great, dinner slightly more mixed - maybe should have gone for the pizzas. Lively and busy in the evening, nice and chilled otherwise.」

「I arrived 15 min early and they wanted to charge me 20 pounds for early checkin. Called for extra towels and they did not deliver. Went to the front desk to ask for towels and they said that they did not have any available.」

If a client is using derogatory foul audible language aimed at women in the bar area they should be asked to stop by the manager/bar tender - it’s not pleasant to be subjected to this if you’re sitting quietly trying to enjoy your own drink . 「Very charming hotel, beautiful courtyard. I am very happy I got to experience this 800 year old hotel with such a pretty site especially that I came all the way from San Francisco. The only common is that we happened to stay during the heatwave, the room is extremely hot, and the room facing the street it is loud with party peorple walking by and talking loud - drunk on a Sat. night. Otherwise, I love my stay and highly recommended.」
