The owners were so sweet, very informative about area and places to eat nearby, the room was so clean, heater worked great, bed was so comfortable, water pressure excellent and those towels were like blankets, the breakfast was menu with lots of choices including the full Scottish breakfast as an option, tea was great, coffee was wonderful, location was on a working farm it was the best stay thus far on our roadtrip thru Scotland, would definitely stay again!!!!
This is a great little bed and breakfast, out in the middle of farming country in rural Scotland. We were there to explore several of the little villages out that way, so this was the perfect location! Breakfast was terrific, the room was spacious and cozy. We'd definitely stay here again!
After the hustle and bustle of the city, Chapel of Barras was just what the Dr. ordered.
I’m traveling for pleasure, but also to finish a book I’ve been putting off, and this was a perfect stop.
It was peaceful, quiet, perfect for my early morning yoga—followed by a delightful and filling homemade breakfast—a couple hours walking, then plenty of uninterrupted time to put pen to paper.
Michelle and David were especially lovely: 10/10 would recommen.
Wonderful location and spotlessly clean house. Newly built rooms and wonderful host!

We liked most things, it was well organised and little touches had been added to make one's stay as pleasant as possible. The owners were very friendly and told us about the surrounding area and even booked dinner for us at a local hotel. We would have preferred a larger bed but that was only a small point.
We felt very welcome despite arriving after check in hours. Aside from the friendly host, there were delicious pieces of cake waiting for us. The breakfast was a treat and the hosts very kind. I’d definitely recommend a stay here.

Michelle was the perfect hostess can’t say enough good things about this property. On a scale of one to five stars this gets a ten.
In a word, FANTASTIC!! Michelle and David are fabulous hosts at this wonderful B & B which is an operating farm in the most lovely countryside. Very clean, very quiet and the breakfast was superb!! Absolutely delightful!
We lived this real farm in the country! Fields of canola seed and daffodils made for beautiful photos. Even cows! Great breakfast and friendly hosts! Short drive to Dunnator castle. Delicious breakfast.
We loved this place and neighboring fields of gold(barley, beans, wheats... etc). Close to the mesmerizing Dunnotar castle(less than 15 mins drive). Breakfast was filling. Owners were very kind. They even allowed us to charge our rented electric car. Will definitely be back here again.
The owners of the B&B are the sweetest people. They really get to know their guest. The breakfast that was made was farm to table and the best I have had in the UK.I wpuld highly recommed especially if you want to get away from all the hustle and bustle of the city. You will not be disappointed.
This little place bucks the trend where other establishments are failing and has charm in abundance.
From entry to exit, everything is just done right. The room was spacious, clean and well maintained. The ensuite bathroom was again well maintained with large shower. There are other personal touches within the room such as fresh milk provided and a baked treat daily.
Then there is the breakfast, an expertly cooked Scottish breakfast with fresh coffee, juices and the most insane, cloud like pancakes.
The owners are brilliant, great conversation, interesting and have a lovely backstory.
Location wise, it is very quiet aand safe around the B&B, with European travelers choosing it as a base to see local landmarks. I used it as my base for the Oil and Gas show up the road in Aberdeen and will do so again next time.
A great place to stay, a great breakfast in the morning, but what made the stay unforgettable was the conversation with the hosts/owners of the property.
Chapel of Barras is a great place to stay! The room was spacious with a huge closet and an en suite bathroom. Breakfast was a huge Scottish breakfast with haggis, black pudding, bacon, sausage, tomatoes and mushrooms, plus fried eggs and toast! Also, coffee, juice, scones, and some other stuff too - very filling! The hosts are very friendly and helpful with lots of knowledge of the area. Location is great - out in the countryside, nice and quiet, but not too far from towns and the seaside.
