"Some of the basics were not provided on our stay so really wasn't worth the money. Communication - didn't receive the check-in details by email as instructions said. The day before the stay I tried to contact the host multiple ways, including Hotels.com support x 2, with no luck. Eventually on the day of the stay I was told I would get the information at 12pm. "OK Lodge is just a name; what is is is a (nicely) extended and converted terraced house opposite a park; so now a few studio flats, with some common areas. Modern and clean but a couple of issues - like oven not even wired in; no table to eat off; and also whilst we booked for 3 adults and was confirmed; they called to say max was 2 adults & a child and would not refund the extra £50 for the 3rd adult (who couldn't now come of course) and I had to go through Expedia to get resolved. "All the staff were helpful The Breakfast area has a gluten free station with bread rolls etc and a designated toaster Shame they don’t get their sausages from Tesco as they are GF but they cooked me veggie ones instead which was lovely. The food on the Restaurant was amazing - I’m not usually one to rave over food but the Sea Bass meal was delicious Was unaware I had to pay £6 to park which I felt was a bit steep on top of the room"

"The hotel stands in its own grounds just of the M20 junction. It is large hotel with three floors and long corridors. Checkin went ok and we were allocated a third floor room overlooking the old tennis court (now used a truck park). The room is a little dated but functional. The shower worked ok inside a bathtub. There is no Aircon however as we stayed in a cool period, the windows gave adequate ventilation. The beds were firm and comfortable. The resturant provides a good Breakfast for £12 /head with a bar next door. We attended an event in the adjacent function room which was well organised. The leasure facilites are good with a large swiming pool, hot tub and steam room. Overall I would rate this mid 3 star hotel."

"We had a great stay and really enjoyed having access to the castle grounds so close to our room. We asked for a fan in our room and it was delivered immediately . The restaurant for breakfast was only a minutes walk away and had a stunning view of the castle . The food was of a very high quality and good choice of individually cooked items , plus an extensive buffet. Thoroughly recommend for a special occasion ."

"Little hidden gem! Absolutely stunning property. As soon as you walk through the door it’s like stepping back in time. Stunning decor with lots of character and interesting items to look at around the property. Host was warm and welcoming when I arrived. I will definitely be visiting this hotel again and have already started recommending to friends."

"I took my wife to the windmill for 2 nights following a recommendation from my parents in law who had previously stayed and eaten there themselves and told us how good the food was. We were not disappointed, the food was excellent, we benefited from steak night on the Thursday and fish night on the Friday which meant we got some free drinks with our meals. The skate on Friday night was a real treat for my wife who loves fish! The staff were all friendly and attentive, with Oscar the head chef, going above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our food. A ‘happy birthday’ dessert was a really nice touch to an already lovely stay. There is ample parking at the back of the pub and a really nice garden for warmer weather. Our room had a lot of character with wonky ceilings and floors but it’s what you would expect from an old building. The room itself was pristine in terms of cleanliness with everything you would expect to find in a hotel room. I can’t recommend the windmill enough, but it’s really the staff, regulars (who were very friendly also) and the food which are the stand outs) We will be heading back soon with our friend from Greece to give them the experience of a proper British pub!"

"Sincerely it was an experience I don’t want to repeat.The room wasn’t tidy. You can tell they only changed the sheets but didn’t properly clean the rooms. The fridge had a lot of food leftover, the cupboards had a lot of leftover groceries. Even the washing machine had a lot of laundry leftover from previous clients. There’s no toiletries please take your own. The room smelled so much like cigarettes that our clothes smelled like cigarettes.I booked two rooms for my family only for them to knock at 23:30 if we could give one of the rooms to two girls brought in by the police. I saw someone sitting for over 2 hours to check in but there was no one there and they were not picking the call."
