Great location-if you are on the water side beautiful view across to the Point and abundant bird life to sit and watch. If you are only the garden view side - go out to the deck and enjoy a happy hour $7 house wine or beer and enjoy the view.
Room are large and the garden view ones are renovated.
A few negatives no lift so bag need to be carried up a flight of stairs. Only a kettle in the room no toaster or bowls. - Hotel does have a restaurant but there are cafes in the area if you prefer.
It’s a fine hotel. The room was clean but the bed wasn’t the most comfortable. The view is pretty.
When we arrived they had most of the restaurant parking closed off for an event the next day, which meant everyone who had come for dinner was parked in the hotel guest parking and it was completely full. The person at the front desk didn’t really seem to know what to do about it and eventually told us to park on the side of the reception driveway - after dinner we moved our car as the car park had cleared by then, but it all seemed a bit unorganised.
This small-town hotel deserves an accolade for the elegant and stylish design of its lobby, lounge, hallways and corridors. A big round of applause to the interior designer! Overall, the property is immaculately clean and meticulously tidy all throughout, from the inside and out, and through to the guest rooms. We had a well-appointed room upstairs with a panoramic view of the lagoon and beaches. A word of note - there are no lifts in this hotel so make sure to request your room to be appointed on the ground level if you have mobility issues. Reception staff are accommodating and very considerate to the needs of their guests as we received the same “country-feel” and warm hospitality from check-in to check-out. We will not have second thoughts booking this hotel again in our future travels to St Helens!
Great location with large, clean rooms in a larger hotel for the area. The staff are ultra friendly and only too happy to help out with hotel or travel needs. We travelled there during winter but I
Clean room, staff superb especially Lindsey the receptionist when we arrived, she couldn’t have been more helpful. Good breakfast and easy access to most areas.
Beautiful views and was a great base for exploring the east coast. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed, and the restaurant had a good variety of options available. Only down side was that walls were quite thin and could be a little noisy at times, but otherwise a fantastic stay!
Had a very enjoyable one night stay. Reception staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
Room was spacious very well appointed and clean.
Sorry we could only stay the one night and definitely will stay again the next time I'm in St Helens.
