Property is in excellent condition, including the grounds which are unusually well maintained. The problem here, and it is significant, is that it is severely understaffed. There was a single person handling check-ins and she was handling the phone as well as checking people in. The restaurant had a long waiting line. I went to the bar to use my complimentary drink voucher and after sitting ten minutes at the bar the bartender hadn’t even made eye contact with me, he was so busy rushing around making drinks. Everybody was working hard, there was not a problem with people standing around doing nothing, there were simply not enough staff to run the operation. I felt sorry for them. When I got to my room I discovered that I had received a double bed room instead of the king size bed I had reserved. There was no point talking about correcting the mistake because of how busy the check-in person was. So my feelings are very mixed, the faculty is in great shape, the staff is hard working, but the staffing problem means that if there are any problems to address you will likely be out of luck, there simply isn’t staffing capacity to deal with the unexpected. This is not how a hospitality business should be run. I would think twice about staying here again.
