We stayed here to catch the morning ferry. The welcome and prior communication set the scene. Rupert is a wonderful host. Ate at AM Politician on his recommendation and it was great. When our ferry was cancelled night before he gave advice that worked well for getting another ferry off the island next morning even though all was booked up for two days. Comfy beds. Good en suite and very clean. Stay with Rupert for a friendly and caring host.

Travelling for work, felt at home.

Outstanding place run by a really great guy, really attentive, informative, friendly and welcoming. Stunning views! Felt like a home from home, would definitely stay with Rupert again and highly recommend this wonderful place.

I cannot begin to describe what a wonderful experience I had while staying here. Rupert is the ultimate host. Witty, funny, and full of knowledge not only about Uist but also the rest of the Outer Hebrides and surrounding areas. He sends you an email long before your travel date detailing what to expect along with dining recommendations. Upon arrival you find his humorous and fact filled travel guide waiting for you in your room. We had a couple of discussions on what to see and where according to my schedule along with Rupert providing pictures he had taken to show me what to look for. On top of all this, you start your day with his freshly prepared breakfast (eggs and local smoked salmon-you bet!). The accommodations are clean, welcoming and full of local art and supplies. You cannot go wrong staying here. A true gem!!
