「It was our family holiday to travel around New Zealand from overseas. We booked two bedrooms in Marakura Deluxe Motel, Te Anau for 1 night so as to take Milford Sound cruise next day. It was a nice spacious ground floor 2 bed room with beautiful lake view, the kitchen is fully equipped, the parking space is just next to the building. 「I’m not sure if the beds in this motel had been changed before we arrived. When we unfolded the blankets around 9 PM to sleep, we found hair on the double bed, which was really off-putting. I then checked one of the single beds and, upon closer inspection, noticed hair there as well. 「Room tidy and clean. Yet, there was an odour near the kitchen. Wonder if they have tried using deodoriser to eliminate that. The owner was nice and helpful. As we were leaving early for a trip, the owner allowed us to park our car early that morning before checking in. some construction work and road block nearby, he also gave us clear instructions on how to get in through the other way. Nice short stay apart from the odour. 」

「Stayed here for a few nights and really enjoyed it. The rooms were clean, warm, and comfortable, with all the essentials provided. Staff were friendly and helpful, making check-in and check-out easy. The location is great—close to the city centre but still quiet at night. Good value for money. Would definitely stay again. 」
