"Excellent hotel at the top of Steep Hill. Lovely room. Enjoyed a cocktail in the bar and also an evening meal in the restaurant."

"The website said the hotel had recently been refurbished, however the decor was rather dated. Was unsure of the shower over the bath was just old or they had chosen a colour for the fittings that looked liked aged plastic. Although it was very clean and I had a good night's sleep. I found it very OFF putting to see a vermin trap outside our room, which made us decide not to eat at the hotel."

"Very friendly helpful staff, excellent location and lovely views of the Cathedral. Our room was clean and bed was comfortable but a view general maintenance jobs made it look a little tired. Edge of windowsill had fallen off and the surface of the bath had seen better days. Coupled with worn furniture and a balcony which needed a good clean lowered the quality of what could have been a five Star stay."

"Hotel is in a lovely location. When we arrived in the morning there was plenty of spaces in the car park, although by checking in time it was almost full. The staff on reception were very friendly. Our room was very spacious with 2 double beds and 2 chairs. The only issue I had was with the lighting, there were plenty of lamps but no ceiling lights so the room wasn’t as bright as I would like. The bar area was lovely and again the staff were very friendly. We were unable to book the breakfast when we booked the room, so chose to go to the Harvester next door instead, which was very nice and good value."
