Situated on the western border of India and a less commonly known side of the Himalayas as compared to those of Nepal, Sikkim has a wide array of landscapes and astounding untouched views. The hike, while slightly challenging for a novice like me, still provided for an amazing experience of a lifetime. The Elgin, Darjeeling

10/10 Excellent

"Its a beautiful, nostalgic throwback to a colonial India hillstation. Darjeeling is wonderful and this hotel has memories, from the posters and photis on the walls, of life back when. I stayed in the Tenzing Norgay block, with old somewhat faded photos of the great man along every inch of corridor. But not everything works...some of the lights, the bedsheets dont fit, the towels are worn. None of that distracted me from the historic atmosphere of old time luxury. The afternoon tea was great, as were all meals. And staff exceptional."
