We love staying at the Cobblestone Inn in Clarinda. It is a halfway point for us going from South Dakota to Missouri. The hotel is super clean and the staff is very helpful and friendly. It is so convenient and an easier drive than through Omaha.

The staff at both check in and checkout were great to deal with. The problem came with the room. The bed was very uncomfortable….very hard as if we were sleeping on the floor. The real problem was opening the dresser drawers and finding the previous occupants personal garments (shirts, bras and underwear). Makes me wonder what type of cleaning procedures are really happening
Clothing found in the dresser guessing from the previous guest…..how much cleaning to the room actually took place prior to my rental.

At $147 for a room, I expect a decent level of service. The beds were comfortable, but that was the only positive. The sink didn’t have soap. The breakfast stopped an hour earlier than scheduled. Our keys stopped working and there was no one to help us get into our room. The woman working was kind but needs a day off. This place needs better management.

The room was very clean I came in one night with a question and as I walked to the counter I noticed that the front desk clerk was in the back room. The desk had instructions to dial "0" on the desk phone if I needed help. I did this and the phone was loud and I allowed it to ring at least 6 times but the clerk never came out so I just left. This is unfortunate because the morning clerk (I believe her name is Courntey) was very pleasant and helpful. I did not eat breakfast at the property I do not have a pet
