Have fun and cool off in a waterpark, attend an event at a convention center, or take advantage of the shopping and dining options in this pleasant eastern district of Seville.

The Este-Alcosa-Torreblanca district is primarily made up of modern residential areas for the inhabitants of Seville. Despite the lack of big tourist highlights like in the city center, the area’s waterpark and convention center with its surrounding shopping and dining area do offer enough to tempt tourists here occasionally.

Seville can get very hot in the summer and there is no better way of enjoying a sunny day than by visiting the fun Aquopolis waterpark. Put on your swimwear and zoom down the exhilarating water slides or splash about in the different themed pools of the park. Set amongst grass and shady trees, there are plenty of spots for you to relax in before jumping back in the water and trying some more slides.

Check the events guide before visiting and catch an exhibition or concert at the stunningly designed Fibes - Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones. This vast exhibition center is fascinating to check out just for its architecture alone the center is very well laid out for all of the events it hosts. Stand in the plaza at the front to take in the dome and sweeping curve of its façade.

Head across the road from the exhibition center to indulge in some retail therapy and enjoy a spot of Spanish dining late at night. Next to the large traffic circle you will find the Zona Este center with its popular cinema. Opposite the center are many good bars and cafés. A little farther along is the large Carrefour San Pablo Shopping Center with a wide range of retail outlets.

Step out into nature by visiting the huge Tamarguillo Park on the eastern edge of the district. Stroll along the many leafy paths, enjoy a relaxing barbecue or let the kids have fun in the playground. You can also try the smaller, more central Infanta Elena Park for a bit of fresh air. Take a seat beside the lake and watch the ducks, turtles and geese swim by.

The Este-Alcosa-Torreblanca district may not be as dazzling as the historic heart of Seville, but it certainly has some charms all of its own if you care to look.
