For almost $200 a night, I expected more from this place. The room was nice, but there was no microwave or mini fridge and the TV was basic. I like the character of the bathroom, but the tile grout was dirty and the one towel hook was about to come off. The staff was nice, but never at the front desk. There was a sign to call them if you needed help which I can understand if they're running on a skeleton staff. However, whenever I would call the number, it was answered "hello" like a personal call rather than the stating the hotel name. Nothing majorly wrong, but I expected more for the price.

I arrived to the hotel around 9:30pm and I asked the young lady front desk agent if the restaurant was still open. She responded that it hasn't been open since July in a nasty tone like I was supposed to know that. I then asked her if she had any recommendations of where to eat and she simply said no. Before getting in the elevator I asked her if there was water in the room which the answer was also no. At the moment I decided to check online and there was a bar a block away that gave me some water. When I return back to my hotel room I noticed my TV didn't work, it had no channels and the remote had limited functionality. So I went back to the front desk, the same agent dressed in a hoodie ready to leave expressed that she didn't know how to fix a tv, she then suggested I went up to my room to see if it was magically working now; it wasn't. I went back down and she gave me keys to a new room. While the new room did have a working tv, it had an horrible smell, dusty coffee machine and a phone with no buttons. I tried dialing out and it definitely didn't work which is concerning if you don't have your own phone. To conclude this hotel should not charge more than $50 per night, they have zero amenities, unprofessional staff and the advertisement is very misleading.

The hotel is under new ownership, ALL of the ice machines have been removed, they can’t find staff so there is NO longer buffet breakfast being served and the Bar/Restaurant is closed.

Best hotel we’ve been to. We loved the historic feel of the place, the vintage bathrooms and dual heat/ac unit. Terrie at the front desk was the nicest woman we’ve ever met at a hotel; extremely welcoming and accommodating. Room was clean and smelled nice. The parking was so easy and close to walk. We will absolutely be back!! Thanks for everything!

Pros: good location, clean large room. CONS: Advertised Continental breakfast, only Keurig coffee maker available in lobby, Advertised dining room and bar closed. Street traffic loud during AM commute hours. Staff basically non existant had to call loudly in lobby for someone to appear. No ice machine, had to ask staff for ice and was told by one night attendant they didn't have ice! Informed him it was available in kitchen ( another staff member got for us earlier) no one ever came into room to empty trash or give us clean towles. We told staff we would be out of room till late evening and removed do not disturb sign daily thinking the room would be refreshed. We did get clean towles when actually saw someone but dirty ones were still on bathroom floor and trash can still full. We were in town due to a death in family and picked the Gould because of location and amenities advertised. Would not recommend staying here as there are other cheaper hotel/motels we've stayed in with no amenities in the area. We were

We absolutely loved our stay. The room was gorgeous, spacious, and had everything we needed. There were several restaurants within walking distance. We were a bit sad that the in hotel restaurant was closed, but overall great place.

Staff were wonderful! Hotel is beautifully remodeled. Great location. Unfortunately the restaurant and bar are closed due to staffing issue. The rooms are very clean, bathrooms are gorgeous, very nicely decorated but there is no refrigerator and the bed is very uncomfortable.

First, the lady at the front desk, amazing! Now we get there and room is freezing, heating unit broke...ok...switch rooms...new room the cable out...ok i fix that...the floor was dirty, hadnt been mopped in awhile...only one entrance and is inconvenient carrying bags when front spaces are taken...the bed sank in the middle and didnt realize this until bed time and it was too late to swap rooms...i dont think id stay there again...it was pretty to look at though...

Room was great. Check in person, less than pleasant. Web site says bar and restaurant, however it was not open. They need to update that. We would have stayed somewhere else if I knew the restaurant was closed
