"We was supposed for the cost of the room that no real adequate cooling system was in place , instead - stepping into a room that was hotter than the rest of hotel we had already been and hotter than outside the building . Might I suggest in hotter months that windows are opened and curtains closed to allow circulation of air through the room , it was the most uncomfortable stay we’ve had in a hotel in the summer time . A small fan was just not efficient enough . So to allow some sort of cooler room , windows were opened , curtains closed and fan was put by window to allow cooler air flow , though as I joked to the reception person , I think sleeping in the corridor would be better after he offered me ice though I’m not sure where he expected me to put the ice . The restaurant staff exceeded themselves , so very polite and welcoming . A nice relaxed meal that was 100% out of this world . I would recommmend 100% people to visit hotel for food , but to stay wouldn’t recommend especially in summer months where the hotel does not have any kind of A/C for the cost of the room . Once again - restaurant staff - keep up the good work !!"

"Room was compact but ok Clean & warm -visited in December Safe didn’t work which may have been batteries but was an overnight stay so not a big issue Found bfast strange -started with fruit juice, cereal, toast & croissants -the latter usually served after full English. I found a hair in my scrambled egg which I’d eaten & had to remove from my mouth -not pleasant. Girl serving who was doubling as a receptionist didn’t apologise which I thought odd & asked me to put on a plate so she could show kitchen. I couldn’t eat rest of breakfast & didn’t have time to reorder even though she asked if could get me anything else. She did apologise later as we checked out. I did say not what I expected as kitchen workers wear hats -she said the chef was bald. I know these things happen unfortunately. Think bfast could do with being served at 08.00 We arrived on Sunday at 16.00 -3 places in Wickham served food but only one open at this time. The soundproofing in the room did not prevent noise from next room Would I stay again -yes -not sure I’d have breakfast though "
