"English Inn is located in a previously busy area, but in 2026 , it is somewhat tucked away. We love that! Very clean! Excellent breakfast offerings. If there was anything negative I could say, it would be to say that the mattresses are somewhat hard, but not enough to make them uncomfortable to sleep."

"This location is right in the heart of the University of Virginia grounds so it was very easy for us to drive to John Paul Jones arena for the basketball game and to Klockner Stadium for the lacrosse game. It is on a cu-de-sac with other houses. It is very close to restaurants, the Corner, and the downtown mall. If you are going to Scott Stadium, you can walk there which is great because parking is expensive and difficult to get. The room was clean, but not bright and the temperature on the air conditioning unit was not controllable even after getting assistance. The staff was very nice and helpful. There is only valet parking which is charged at $15/day. There is no breakfast on the premises, but they do have a cafe within walking distance that serves great breakfasts at a cost."

"The rooms were fantastic. Very clean and the bed was quite comfortable. We were within walking distance of a great brewery/restaurant where we got dinner. Didn't love that we had to pay to park. The staff member that checked us in seemed very disinterested in her job. Never told us our room #, anything about breakfast or wifi. We just had to figure it out. But the person who helped us this morning was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. Would certainly stay here again."
