I had a great time staying here as a solo-female traveler. The location was super easy for uber pickup/drop off, the beach was a 5-7 minute walk away, and tons of different shops and restaurants were within a 15 minute walk. Old San Juan is about a 12-15 minute uber ride away. I generally felt safe in my unit (I wasn’t staying out too late so I can’t speak to late night happenings). I would definitely consider staying here again. The only minor complaint I have is around cleanliness. The bathroom had at least 3 different people’s hair in various places that were immediately obvious when I used it for the first time. Ultimately it wasn’t that much of a problem for me. The check in and check out instructions provided were super clear and easy to follow, and communication from the property about regularly scheduled maintenance was timely and professional.

Everything about our stay at La Mona Loiza Sta was 5 stars. Check in was very easy, and easy step by step instructions on how to get into our room. The room was clean. Parking was not hard at all even on a Friday/Saturday, maybe we got lucky. The only complaint I have is the shower didn’t have enough water pressure and it was either very hot or cold, but not a big deal. I would 100% stay here again. Thank you!

Pros: Great location with easy access to a quality grocery store, restaurants, and the beach. The room was a good size and water pressure in the shower was good. Uber to/from the airport is $7-9 USD one-way. The check-in process is very easy. Clean room & building. Cons: $10 to get new towels even though we are staying 6 days. The internet was really bad (loses connection in all rooms through the day, could not enjoy the smart TV at night when relaxing or trust the connection for any virtual work). If your room is at the front of the building, there is a lot of car noise throughout the day - loud music,honking. The traffic light near the building is very busy so loud music can last 1-2 minutes at a time. Outlets in the bedroom were blocked by furniture and most convenient way to charge phones were to use the kitchen or living room. You are asked not to flush toilet paper.

Zuerst wurden wir von dem im Zimmer üblen Geruch emfangen (Zimmernr. 1) der auch über den gesamten Aufenthaltszeitraum nicht verflogen ist. Gebucht wurde ein Appartement mit Terrasse, stattdessen gab es einen Balkon, der aber in einem so desolaten Zustand war und sicher seit Monaten oder Jahren nicht gereinigt wurde, ebenso die lieblos in einer Ecke aufgebauten Sitzmöbel, die nicht genutzt werden konnten(Grünspan und Verschmutzung). Die benutzten Handtücher wurden nicht trocken, da die Luftfeuchtigkeit im Bad so hoch ist, Fenster konnte nur wenige Zentimeter aufgestellt werden. Servicepersonal hat immer einen genervten Eindruck gemacht und hat auf einen imaginären Hauskeeper hingewiesen, der oder die aber nie zu sehen war. Punkte gibt es für die gute Lage.

I recently stayed at this property and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. First, the room looked noticeably different from the photos advertised online. The expectations set by the listing did not match what was actually provided. Each guest was given only one towel, and the property charges $10 for a replacement. In a warm, beach-type tourist destination, that policy feels unreasonable and inconvenient. There were also no clear directions or signs to help locate the apartments/rooms, which made arrival confusing. To make matters worse, the main gate stopped working during the stay, creating additional frustration and concerns about security and accessibility. The bathroom and shower were extremely small — almost cruise-ship sized — making them uncomfortable to use. On top of that, the shared/public areas were poorly maintained and did not feel clean or welcoming. Overall, the stay did not meet expectations and I would not recommend this property.

The convenience of this location was outstanding!! The staff was nice and I would’ve loved to give this location 5 stars however, the water issue at this property put a huge dent in our overall experience. Firstly, there is little to no hot water at this property, we were told after check in that there have been some plumbing issues on the street. Also another HUGE inconvenience is the property asks that you do not flush any toilet paper, wipes, etc down the toilet due to the sensitivity of the pipes. This can be gross and inconvenient especially considering there is no daily cleaning service to pickup towels. It would’ve been good to have this information before booking.

The apartment was good, it didn’t like as vibrant as the pictures and the couch could use a cleaning or be replaced. We asked several times if we could check out at 11am instead of 10am but couldn’t accommodate. They did offer to store our luggage so we decided to do that but by the time they responded to my message about the storage we already had to check out. They responded to my message at 10:30am, I sent the message around 8:30am. Would not go back.

The eoom was clean, staff responded in a timely manner. I didn't like the smell of the room, it smelled humid, and when I asked for extra towels I was told that they were going to be delivered, but never got them. The location is perfect within walking distance to supermarkets, restaurants and beach. Thank you

Overall it was okay, but probably wouldn't stay again. The apartment we were given was a ground floor, dark apartment - nothing like in tbe photos when we reserved. There was a LOT of humidity (also visible on the walls which was painted over) and it was impossible to air out even with all windows open - all my clothes were smelling of humidity when I got home and I had to wash everything to get rid of the smell. It's clear that the apartment is a bit older than seems in the pictures also. Bedroom quite nice, good mattress. Good kitchen (though the stove light could not be turned off). The water temperature in the shower was lukewarm at best. And the main entrance door really need a fix, when locked you can see the door is a bit wobbly, wouldn't be difficult to enter to be honest. The area is good and the apartment is well located. Also good communication from the property has to be acknowledged, they are very thorough with their service and messaging. Overall a mixed review.
