Was a bit disappointed with our stay here. I’d read that the rooms were a bit dated, but it was rundown in aspects as well. The window in our bathroom had a broken hinge, the towels were old and tattered, the faucet discoloured, but the worst part was the bugs in the room. There was an ant (?) infestation - they’d burrowed a few holes into the bathroom doorframe and they were coming in and out of them and we found them in various places around the room. There were other various bugs we found over the three nights, so never felt settled. I know this is a tropical area, but we didn’t encounter this to this degree elsewhere.
That said, the staff were very nice and when we went to the front desk about the ants they came and sprayed the room. Unfortunately, we still found stragglers and other new bugs during the rest of our stay.
The hotel is within walking distance to a beach, but we ultimately preferred other beaches with vendors and amenities, which required a drive either to Carrillo or central Samara.
