「This is easily the best hotel in Rye, and, in my opinion, one of the best I have had the pleasure of staying at. Like many hotels the food was excellent, the service was excellent the rooms are beautifully decorated and the simple things like having a decent shower or bar are so well catered for. What sets this apart is the vibe of the place, you can feel the history, You can feel the culture that has been created in the team, who really understand customer service. 「Me and my partner stayed at the Mermaid in over the May Bank holiday. We stayed in room 19, which was a great size and clean. Staff were really friendly and breakfast was very tasty. Would definitely recommend this hotel when staying in Rye.」

「We had room 17- a review of this room last September was awful. If accurate it has now been improved as it was comfortable and we had no issues with it. All staff were very good - friendly and efficient.Breakfast was excellent. Ample parking at front of property . Grassy area at back alongside the river with sitting area was very nice. Position of hotel is great with a short walk straight into Rye which is a lovely town with many places to eat - lovely old pubs and interesting buildings. Lamb...

「Had a great stay at the lookout. Some of the decor is a bit dated in places. But when it was done was done to a very high standard so has worn well. The hotel has benefit of parking which is charged at £10 a day. This compares well to costs of public car parks in Rye. Definitely worth it for the convenience. 「Clean, everything you need, walking distance to beach, nice and quiet. Would be 5 star except sofa smells, plant overgrown on entrance to property and back door very stiff and hard to lock. Lovely little estate of pretty houses」

「Battle is a very small town; having the helpful hotel staff in the neighborhood is certainly a plus. This building has existed as of the 16th century, and it's been properly maintained and apparently renovated in the toilet/bathroom.」

「I'm not usually a B&B person but it had such amazing reviews we gave it a try and it lived up to every 5 star review. It is absolutely gorgeous, the room was spacious and had the most fabulous bathtub. The breakfast is wonderful and Karen is so kind and accommodating. I highly recommend The Laindons.」
