"Don’t book this hotel. We will definitely not come back. This hotel claimed to be 4 stars but I would say it's more like a 3-star hotel. Read more below. The staff (especially the front of house) were very unwelcoming and rude. It seems like we were bothering them when we simply tried to check in. She didn’t tell us where the lift was, the wifi code, breakfast area or anything. She just gave us the key. When we got to our room, it was super hot, the simple things like turning on the AC for us before we got the room would be nice. We just expected more from the price we paid for and the 4-star hotel service. The only decent thing about this hotel is the room itself. The bathroom and bed are nice. The room is on the smaller side. Overall a very bad experience. Keep in mind, this was supposed to be a “VIP access property” and we have Expedia Gold. We got a better experience at a 3-star hotel."

"Great week-long stay at the Grand Copthorne. The room had a great view and all of the staff were so kind and helpful. We used the car service from the airport and it was excellent - easy to find our driver and a seamless transition to the hotel. The beds/pillows are on the firmer side. We loved the breakfast - so many delicious options! Try to go early in the morning because it gets busy. The location was fantastic - a 5 minute walk to the Havelock metro station, 10 minutes to the Great World metro/mall, and a few minutes to the waterfront area which has so many amazing restaurant options. We would absolutely stay here again!"
