The room was cleaned. A nice small towel would be fine to dry the bathroom counter. The balcony do have a great view. The AC works awesome. The beds are new and firm. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious. The breakfast is ok, and is not a buffet style. They all eat the same only once the breakfast is small though. Parking is limited. But the prize is having the best beach in town just steps away.

Roatan beach stay

This is a nice place to stay. It has a/c which is a great start. The rooms are nice and comfortable and it's just a short walk to an amazing beach.

It’s a great hotel, but they need to work on customer service. Also the window doors they have did not locked so that felt unsafe. Also I understand they are ecofriendly with the AC only being on when you are in the room but than they should have an 18BTU AC because the rooms are big and take a long time to cool down. Besides that, very comfortable beds and spacy rooms.

Very outdated..the pool is decent and it’s walking distance to the beach. Otherwise if you’re not really in the hotel and are only in there to sleep then it’s ok I guess. Pretty quiet, would have sooooo much potential if it was ran better and remodeled.

I read the reviews and was aware there were a lot of stairs. So I wasn't surprised, but we got a 4th floor room and that first walk up really highlighted that for us. They were so accommodating immediately changing it to a second floor room to make things easier for us. They were determined to make us happy in that regard. The rooms themselves are dated, but have a island charm and beautiful view. We want to Thank Michael and Gerald at the front desk for always being so helpful and drivers Alexi and Cooper for safe and cool transportation to a dolphin excursion and dinner at Luna Muna! The best part about this hotel is it's very short walk to West Bay Beach where you'll find lots of food and the most beautiful beach. You can also hop on a water taxi to go elsewhere. We took a water taxi to West End for more food and shopping almost every day we were there! West Bay Divers is a 5 min walk and there are a bunch of other dive shops in the area. I would say West Bay Colonial is a great deal for those who like a budget friendly option. If you're extremely particular about updated furnishings or the "look" of things you should probably stay at one of the pricier options We would stay here again.

The only good things about this property is the close proximity to the beach and the friendly staff. The owner has spent no money to update the facilities. There once was an elevator, but it no longer works. It’s 81 steps to the fourth floor. There is no drinking water in the rooms ( in a country where you can’t drink the water from the tap). We were in a suite (I use the term loosely). It was two rooms with a closet in one. No chairs or stools to sit on. Had a microwave but the turntable was broken. There were no towel bars in the bathroom, only broken hooks. The soap dish in the shower fell off the wall during the night because the bracket was rusted. Linens and bedspreads need to be replaced because of tears. A “continental breakfast” but it’s questionable. We have been coming to Honduras for many years including the mainland and Roatan and have never stayed in a place with so little consideration for its customers. The management and owners need some help in hospitality management.
