Truly one of the worst stays I've ever had. The room smelled terribly of damp, the bed and carpet was ripped and stained, thick layers of dust on almost every surface, mould in the bathroom, shower leakage, and dead plants in the courtyard. The cleaning staff barged into our room in the morning without knocking, waking us up two hours before our checkout time. The staff was basically non-existent, and as the pub only opens around noon, it's impossible to get any help in the mornings. The price of the room was an absolute joke, I truly wouldn't have paid £10 to stay here. Ripon is a small location with not many accommodation options, so they are blatantly trying to rip you off. It was only a 2 night stay, but I my partner and I ended up needing to clean most of the room just to be comfortable staying there. I cannot stress this enough, STEER CLEAR!!

The one good thing about this place is the staff. In all other respects this was a very disappointing and unpleasant experience: We were unable to use the car park because of the white vans that were in the way. The room was not especially clean The ‘double’ bed in the room was tiny, barely able to accommodate two people and very uncomfortable No WiFi This place was not staffed overnight so when the fire alarm went off at 6AM no one turned it off and no one came to check on the guests. We left while the alarm was still going.

The cleaner was fantastic, really helpful, friendly and efficient, if only other staff members had an ounce of what she has my review may have been different. The initial room smelt damp and fusty, to the extent of triggering coughs. The shower was cold and the shower drain was blocked so spilled over. I called and messaged the contact person and still waiting for response. The person my husband spoke to re changing room was rude and dismissive. The cleaner was kind, understanding and demonstrates more emotional intelligence than the two muppets put together. Don’t recommend and would not use again. I’m happy with basic but this was sub standard
