Charming room in a charming house with clean sheets and simple living setup in a shared group house space. We were unsure of which room we were in since we made the reservation three months in advance, but found the original confirmation email which sorted it all out.
This is a "self-help" facility. There is no staff. My room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. But shared bathroom and kitchen could use some TLC.
The location is great if you have a car, but way out from the center (40-50 minutes by bus), so beware.
Good experience with really nice and helpful service. It was easy to check in and out. Unfortunately there was a lot of noise, so it was easy to hear the other guests through the doors and walls.

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Decent place, could have been better
The cleanliness was not in order, bathrooms were dirty when we checked in, had to raise a complaint with the owner to get them cleaned. The wifi connectivity was really pathetic, since we came from a different country, it created inconvenience for us as wifi was the only way for us to stay in touch. The location was fine and was 15min from Reykjavik. Overall, it was what we paid for, as it was the cheaper option
Stayed for two nights and only ever heard other people once during the stay. Like other reviews said, it had kind of an eerie feel due to that but we had peaceful sleeps. Lots of stairs and interesting layout of the house! Could only find one working shower on the property but drained extremely slow requiring us to stop and start the water flow. Bathrooms were not clean (toilets dirty, multiple toilet rolls around) and garbages not emptied during our stay. Fridges full with extra food not sure who it was. Family who lives attached to the house (?) was friendly.
This is a lower cost option, and that is clear. My room was clean and very basic. No TV and a small desk. The heater dial was turned all the way down but was still hot, so I had to leave the window fully open. Bathrooms are in Ok shape, but the showers are cheap, and the ceiling of one bathroom appears to have mold or mildew. The front door sticks and doesn’t always fully close and lock. Trashes we’re full outside, and interior trashes weren’t dumped in the 4 days I was there. One bathroom ran out of toilet paper and that wasn’t replaced. The whole property needs maintenance. The staff had children that were loud after midnight. When returning to Reykjavik, I will look for a different option.
Good value for money but this is not a luxury hotel. Buses to city center nearby but it is out of town. Plenty of parking. A bit slow at providing us with room access details.
We needed to spend one extra night in Rekjavik and were lucky to find this place to crash. Conveniently located very close to the city center, with pretty comfortable beds and an overall zen atmosphere. This place felt like a very cozy communal house, with shared public spaces and nice private bedrooms.
The room we got is different from what the pictures showed in the booking website. There were a few rooms available at least for the first night but we were not able to change to.
No electric power, bathroom is horrible , bed are very uncomfortable especially the small extra bed (unable to sleep), stairs very slippery and unsafe.
The penthouse was nice, because there was space enough. Smell downstairs was bad. Also kitchen would need table and more equipments. Trash was too full.
