Cool space, all necessary amenities, comfortable beds, spartan patio but nice views toward the harbour and mountains.Worked out fine for a family of five for four nights. Walking distance to everything in the heart of the city and around the port. Great location in the heart of the main tourist strip in Reykjavik. The downside: you're right in the heart of the main tourist strip in Reykjavik, which can be pretty loud on weekends and holiday evenings, and the two bedrooms and living room face out to the street, so if you're a light sleeper be aware of this.

Checkin instruction was not clear

Pro: Location is unbeatable. Amenities were great except there is no laundry machine Cons: They don't response to email or hotels.com messenger, and only answer the phone. We had major issues with checking in. Due to the flight delay, our grandma ended up arriving first. Our room was #1 and it's on the top floor, which is a pretty steep staircase and no elevator. Per instruction she was expecting lockbox for the keys, but the keycards were laid out there with no lockbox. The instruction on how to use the key should be given since it wasn't a typical insert kind. Grandma was really confused when she got to the room since she did not know she was supposed to flash to the unobvious plastic black panel, and the door has key hole which added further to the confusion. She had to ask people on the street to use their phone and walked several blocks to the office to clarify. After that she still had to drag her heavy luggage up 3 floors on the steep staircase all by herself. Overall that was a bad experience for the first timer in Iceland

Amazing location- staff very helpful and were able to check out early and check out late when our flights changed due to wow air going bust. Very warm and cosy and would recommend to any friends staying in Reykjavík.

When I had door locking issues, the staff immediately found a solution and put me in another flat. This was much appreciated as I was travelling on business and needed access to my space for work. The only drawback was that I went to the office and staff were not there and thecealk was a bit of a distance. I would recommend calling first. Thankful that I could store my luggage at the office site. Takk.

Convenient location but we had a mix-up with keys when we arrived. The keys left for us were to an apartment already taken and the office had moved to a different location off site. We had already walked from the bus stop with our luggage. Fortunately, the manager drove over to give us the correct key because we had an excursion we had to get to. However in order to contact him, we had to activate my phone for a charge. The biggest problem for us was the shower. It was only a bathtub with a shower head and no shower curtain. Water went everywhere when trying to use it and the water reeked like rotten eggs. We probably wouldn't stay there again unless the bathroom situation was corrected. The house itself was well kept.

Amazing location, a few niggles but overall great!

Fantastic location couldn't be better. Parking a good distance away and payable! Sofa bed past it's best - should be replaced. Not sure why there isn't a door on the bedroom, just a bit strange! Front door requires the "knack", once you've got it, it's easy, until then a bit tricky.

Great spot, but bring earplugs!

Great apartment in the middle of town; the only complaint was no instructions on how to use the stove (Google/YouTube to the rescue, eventually) and the live band across the street that went on stage at midnight on a Wednesday.... Earplugs or headphones are a must. We loved everything else about it!

Good location apartment..near centre and very convenience...tourist information centre and bus pick up point just at the corner... clean and comfortable...very nice check in as well...they give you a code for the main door and the key card just at the corner shelf...easy...

Klein und fein in sehr guter Lage

Wir hatten das Rote Haus für unseren Aufenthalt bekommen. Klein aber fein trifft es wohl gut. Im oberen Stock hat es ein Doppelbett sowie ein Badezimmer. Im unteren Stock befindet sich die Küche, ein Sofa das man zum Bett machen kann sowie ein Esstisch und TV. Die Einrichtung ist aufs nötige reduziert, trotzdem findet man alles. Die Lage ist super, in ein paar Minuten kann man die grössten Sehenswürdigkeiten im Stadtzentrum zu Fuss erreichen (ca. 5-10 Min zur Kirche, 10 Min zum alten Hafen, 5-10 Min zum Theater/Oper). Auch Essensmöglichkeiten gibt es in kurzer Gehdistanz zur Genüge. Für einen weiteren Aufenthalt in Reykjavik würde ich dieses Apartment sicherlich wieder buchen!

Meget centralt, men meget larm fra andre lejligheder, parkeringspladser udenfor/tæt på. Køleskab ikke rent, rengøring i lejlighed var ok. To dybe tallerkener - vi var tre, men det kan overnatte 4 personer. MEGET sparsomt med fade der kan settes i ovn. Lejligheden god nok som sådan, men meget lyt fra andre lejligheder.
