The room was clean, albeit a bit small. The walls are practically paper thin so bring a pair of noise cancelling headphones. Despite the noise, it is a perfectly nice place to stay and relatively inexpensive, as well as being in a great location. If you are on a budget, then it is worth staying here.
Very clean and quit guesthouse in the center of everything. Easy to find and easy check in instructions

Now called Old Town and not Kastali, I found the hostel to be in a great location, quiet despite the being well occupied, the rooms fine, and the bathrooms kept clean the entire time I was there. Pretty nice, actually.
Staff were very helpful for check in, check out and luggage storage. The room was very clean and the beds comfortable and warm. Super close to everything
Great place to stay in Reykjavik if you’re traveling on a budget. Basic room, but if you’re only there to sleep like I was, it’s enough. Shared bathroom but very spacious and clean. Excellent location in the old town, the main things to do/see are in a 15 minute walk radius.
I stayed a few nights in this place, close to everything, Bus stop 1 is on the back of the hotel, centric, quiet area, restaurants not too far, the only bad thing is the room that is small and if you stay single room you have to take your luggage to last floor
I had a great stay at Kastali Guesthouse. The room was so sweet and beautiful, the bathrooms where always nice and clean. Walking distance to the airwaves festival. Was amazing. And I’ll be coming back.
We enjoyed our stay, our room was clean, and it was in a great spot to explore the city. There is no parking, so we paid for parking on the street.

Liked: Cleanliness
Clean room for 4 adults, nothing special, but we were able to check in 1 hour early. Parking lots are close by - we had no problems with parking. Helpful staff. It’s a busy place but everything went smoothly. Fabulous location in the heart of a Reykjavík.
My first time staying in a hostel. Never once had an issue with shower or bathroom use. I also realized that a large room is pointless when you only need it for sleeping. It was clean, comfy, and in the city centre. Perfect location for restaurants and nightlife. Bus stop right around the corner was convenient too.
Don’t expect too much. You’ll get a bed and a shower, no frills. Good price. Excellent location. They provide you with a towel. The shared showers and bathrooms are clean and never busy. I love that my room had its own sink with hot water, it was very practical. Good wifi.

Liked: Property conditions & facilities
Disliked: Amenities
The staff was accommodating when we arrived very early, allowing us to store our bags while we went on a tour. It is disconcerting to talk to staff through a "Ring"-like device (they are not on site all the time). For it being a large guesthouse, it was very quiet - we rarely saw other guests and WC/showers wer always available. Very good value for Iceland!
Ive never stayed in a hostel or a pod before, and as I was only here for 2 days whale watching I thought this would be a great chance to experience the backpacking life. I just like to say a heartfelt warm welcome from the lady on reception and the gentleman in the mess area. They was so helpful and I couldnt fault the facilities and cleaniness of the washrooms. If your in the area and travelling through and need something reasonably price, stay here. If Im in the area again I will definitely stay here again, remember sometimes its not alway about 5 star its about the people you meet in life. Thank you.
