Comfortable stay

The room is a bit dark but other things are really nice. The staff (especially the breakfast lady) is highly appreciated, nice and good service. A very pleasant stay!

Great hotel in perfect location. Easy access to everything. Hotel spotless, very unique and comfortable. Staff were amazingingly helpful. Not the best variety of breakfast but great quality of what was offered.

Wir haben uns soweit wohl gefühlt, auch wenn wir in manchen Dingen von einem 4* Hotel mehr erwartet haben. Wir hatten erst ein sehr kleines DZ bekommen, und nicht die Kategorie, die wir gebucht hatten, aber es wurde alles daran gesetzt, dass wir am 2. Tag in ein etwas größeres Zimmer umziehen konnten. Uns ist aufgefallen, dass es im Zimmer keine Garderobe für Jacken etc. gab und im Bad NICHTS, wo man seine Duschtücher in die Nähe der Dusche und dann zum Trocknen hängen konnte. Haken jeglicher Art Fehlanzeige. Das würden wir, wie auch die herkömmlichen, leicht durchgelegenen Federkernmatratzen, bemängeln.

Really great location and amazing staff. Rooms were clean and spacious although lacking a bit of detail (eg lights not working). Mattress and pillows were comfortable. No double quilt, strange. Breakfast was limited but good, it would good if it included vegan sausages and bacon. Spa is truly disappointing and we paid extra for it, was not worth it at all - just a warm shallow pool (aka hot tub) no bubbles, no depth, pretty pointless and a sauna room. That's it.

Visiting from Las Vegas, NV./World travelers. First time visitors to Iceland. First off the staff: I told them it was my wife's birthday and they went out of their way to make her welcome special and unique. Balloons, pastries, and a hand written card wishing her a happy birthday. They made me look like the husband of the year. Cannot thank them enough. Throughout our stay their kindness and good attitude never stopped. Helpful in every capacity. Secondly, our room: We reserved the suite with the downstairs living room area. Room was very clean. Smelled good. Decor was tasteful. Slippers and robes for 2 in the closet. Has a safe and a fridge. No microwave. But that was ok. The room was very comfy and welcoming. As was the rest of the hotel. Third, Food: Breakfast buffet did not disappoint. Some people say in their reviews the description is misleading about it. I don't know what their problem is but they were either blind or so dang picky they went looking for stuff to complain about. Great taste and all freshly made that morning. Forth, Location: We were literally in the heart of everything and anything you could want to do and enjoy for food, bars, and shops. Short walks to many of the best parts of the capital or a quick can ride if it was too cold or windy. Overall: 5 stars! Hands down. A great place to stay and worth every cent. Much appreciation to the staff. Well done. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. PS: Best part was we were blessed to see the Northern light

The staff was solid, polite and helpful. The room was clean, but the twin beds were disappointing as they were basically cots with a thin mattress, not up to the quality standard of the rest of the hotel. The room was small, my Gold VIP room upgrade was denied (there were rooms available) and they did not accept American Express. Breakfast included with decent offerings and the staff itself was the reason for the 4 stars

Overall I would definitely stay here again Pros: I foound the breakfast quality was higher than a lot of the hotel breakfast buffets I've had, size/variety wasn't the biggest but decent and something for everyone (sausage/scrambled egg/hash browns/beans/bacon, fruit, pastries, bread, ham and cheese, porridge and a selection of toppings, herring, water, juice, tea & coffee and more that I don't remember) but same selection daily Rooms were clean and comfortable Staff were all friendly and helpful Cons: Shower layout gets half the bathroom floor wet for every shower Very little privacy in room toilets, frosted glass walls with a foot or so of clear glass at top and bottom, so you can hear everything from the bed My partner was less impressed with breakfast selection and quality. Fruit was a bit dried out, bananas pre-cut into thirds so had gone brown Spa/lounge/breakfast room was closed for rennovation while I was there with zero notice until check-in and meant we had to book breakfast slots every day due to limited space, extra noise in the mornings and afternoons audible from the room and temp breakfast/lounge area, and no downstairs toilets, and nothing offered in return. Works were finished by the time we left.
