"Room, specifically bathroom and bathroom floor needed a remodel. Corners in tub and shower were old and not clean looking. Beds were OK. pillows were very comfy, making up for the pretty flat mattresses. There is no hut tub. There is a pool which was just fine. No view as the window was covered. There is a decent city view in the gym. Front desk woman who checked us in was very professional and had a kind vibe. Valet was the best ever. They were so helpful and nice. The porters were great too. Breakfast not included, but a nice little restaurant downstairs where you can grab a pastry and a coffee. Wish the pool stayed open later than 10. "

"I was very disappointed with my stay at the Congress Hotel. The room was in clear need of maintenance and updating. There were cracked tiles and damaged drywall, and the overall condition felt worn and neglected. The heating and air conditioning unit did not function properly, which made the room uncomfortable. The blanket provided had visible holes, and there were noticeable gaps under the door, allowing noise and light from the hallway to come through easily. Soundproofing between rooms was also extremely poor—it often sounded like neighboring guests were in the same room. Additionally, the space appears to have gone decades without meaningful updates, with heavy layers of old paint and an overall dated appearance. Unfortunately, the condition of the room significantly impacted the quality of my stay."

"Warning to future guests – be aware of undisclosed policies. I had a very disappointing experience with this hotel due to a lack of transparency about their incidental hold policy. At no point during booking or in any confirmation emails was it disclosed that a credit/debit card was mandatory for incidentals. This was only revealed at check-in. I had sufficient cash to cover any potential charges, but was told cash was not accepted and that I would be turned away without a card. This put me in a very difficult position because this requirement was never communicated beforehand. Policies that affect whether a guest can actually check in should be clearly disclosed before arrival. What made matters worse was the manager on duty, who showed no willingness to work toward a solution and demonstrated very poor customer service. There was no attempt to resolve the issue or even show basic concern. Because of the lack of disclosure and poor handling of the situation, I would not stay here again and would not recommend this property. I would strongly encourage future guests to call ahead and confirm all payment requirements so you do not encounter the same situation. Very disappointing experience overall."

"Busy hotel, seems focused on short-term stays making it difficult for staff to stay on top of essential services. Water pressure in 1st room offered just a trickle. Great staff ultimately offered another room, but required tough negotiation not not a good intro to hotel. Public areas a bit shabby - could use a face-lift. "
