The pool and grounds were beautiful, location was great right at the beach. The desk staff and boss man were very unfriendly and rude, shower was broken.
So is the hotel outdated? Yes. Is the shower inviting you to use it? No. But overall the price you get a super calm hotel that is right across from the beach literally cross the street and bang. For the included breakfast make sure to get the omelette it’s delicious. The staff at the hotel were fantastic and very helpful. They offer tours from the hotel to Saona make sure they charge you 50$ USD and no more. We had to change rooms on day 3 but the staff again were super helpful. A note on the wifi it is the best wifi I have had in the DR just it is strong on the balconies and pool and loby area. I enjoyed this hotel more than any other all inclusive because it was so calm.

Room was clean, bed was confortable,
But no hot water Moho on walls, and no working bathroom door.
This hotel has a very special charm. Although it is an older property, the facilities are well maintained, and its beautiful Spanish colonial style gives it a unique and welcoming character. Its location in the heart of Bávaro is excellent—the beach is just across the avenue, and there are souvenir shops, restaurants, and bars nearby, making everything very convenient.
What truly made our stay memorable was the warmth and hospitality. During our Christmas visit, we had the opportunity to meet the owner and his family, who welcomed us with genuine kindness and made us feel at home, as if we were part of their own family. That authentic, heartfelt treatment is something you don’t find everywhere and is what makes this hotel truly unforgettable.

I stayed here in February, and the location is fantastic. Everything you need is within walking distance, and just across a narrow street is a beautiful beach lined with several great beach bars.
This is definitely a budget hotel and very dated—but I knew that going in. The staff was a highlight of my stay, especially the housekeeping team, who were incredibly friendly and attentive. There’s also a pool bar with food service, and everything was reasonably priced. The bartender in particular was fantastic (I just wish I could remember his name).
The grounds are well maintained and clean, which I really appreciated. However, the rooms themselves are very basic, with limited amenities. You’re essentially provided with two towels, a roll of toilet paper, and a working refrigerator. There is a kitchenette, but the sink and faucet didn’t work during my stay.
The biggest downside was the lack of hot water—I stayed for seven nights and didn’t have a single warm shower. As far as I could tell, there may not be any hot water at all.
I traveled solo and chose this place knowing it was extremely affordable, so I accepted some of these shortcomings. That said, the location, grounds, and staff are what make this place worth considering. With some updates and improvements, this could be a really great property.
I stayed at Hotel Cortecito Inn Bavaro in Punta Cana from March 28 to April 4, and I was disappointed.
The front desk was the biggest problem. One staff member, a black lady, was rude—no greeting, no smile—and insisted check-in was 2 pm even though my booking said 1 pm. The hotel also asks for your passport or ID at check-in. I refused to leave my Canadian passport and had to provide another ID. Javier at the front desk, however, was very helpful and professional.
The room was basic but clean, and the air conditioning worked. Prices felt unfair—tourists seem to pay more than others—and the hotel feels outdated.
Breakfast was terrible: no tea and tiny portions (one egg, a bit of jam, one mini bacon, and small bread). I had to buy breakfast elsewhere. The hotel doesn’t have a beach spot, so you need to find your own access to the ocean.
The poolside food was good, and the server was polite. Be aware that surrounding shops charge tourists more, and hotel security was often absent.
Nearby, I recommend Aroma Restaurant—it’s clean, reasonably priced, and portions are generous.
Overall, I would not return.

The staff was not friendly or helpful. Be aware that they will take your ID and keep it for the duration of your stay. Rooms were fine, but no hand towels or bath mats provided. Breakfast is from 8-10 am. But don't show up close to 10 am! They won't serve you and simply tell you the kitchen is closed.
Cortecito Inn is a wonderful hotel. The property is so well kept, clean and safe. The rooms need a little bit of renovation because it’s older but we love it and will go back again.
Does NOT have direct access to beach, DIRTY sheets, Moldy rooms and the wifi is a joke. The ONLY place you have wifi is right near the reception desk. "Common areas" is another lie. No wifi at pool, restaurant/bar, basketball court. We went two days without towels. If you do not tip they do not clean your room and will take your towels. If you have children and want to take them to the beach you must walk 25 mins to Los Corales (closest public beach) and bring chairs or towels to sit on. Also a 15 min walk from the main food strip in area. The restaurant next door where you get free breakfast has slow service (took about an hour to get our food each day) and you still have to pay taxes on the food, so not "free". I would not recommend this hotel. It does not look like the photos and it should not be deemed as a "good" rated hotel.
Staff was very nice, polite and helpful. Nice pool, beautiful grounds and spacious rooms and balconies.

Value for location and space
This is an old property in a great location, for those who want to stay steps from the best beach, Cortecito beach, bars, restaurants are walking distance, as well as shopping.
Kudos to javier at the front desk and the cleaning staff, all friendly and professional.
Rooms are huge, balcony/patio is great for views into the garden and the pool.
Staying here was a pleasure I don’t speak Spanish at all Wanda made my experience amazing by helping me book my tours and get transportation etc.Breakfast was good the hotel is walking distance from the beautiful beach definitely gonna book in the near future thank you.
The hotel is located in a very convenient area—next to a great seafood restaurant (Capitán Cook Restaurant), just steps away from a beautiful beach, and almost adjacent to a 3-in-1 resort hotel where you can enjoy luxurious days with their day passes. Even though the hotel was fully booked during our stay, it remained very quiet. We felt safe walking along the street at all times.

Captain Hook restaurant is really good and located acroos the street from hotel. Breakfast is decent.

We’ve stayed here many times. It’s old, needs some love but still a great spot. If you are looking for the Hyatt this isn’t your spot. If you’re looking for a cheap spot to sleep after a long day of excursions that’s safe and have a real understanding of the DR this is a good spot. The bathrooms leave a lot to be desired.

During my stay at the hotel, there were a few cons but overall great. One of the issues we had during our stay was getting our shower to work, as it would keep turning on and off for us (I believe because other people were trying to use the water as well). Although half of our week stay, we didn’t have too much of a problem with it. The hotel is right next to the beach, it takes about 2 minutes to get there which is amazing. They also have mini markets, touristy stores, and many restaurants around that are great and convenient. The staff were super sweet to us during our entire stay as well as some of the local people near the hotel. The breakfast was amazing as well! Overall, the stay was pretty great.
Disorder in the requirements. No gentle with the persons just in the Pool Antonio is a best person with gentle to help.

Property is older but nice quiet and relaxing stay. Had no cold water at the bathroom sink but only used hot anyway. Some cleanlines issues but management addressed them on the first day of our 9 day visit. Loved the fact it was right in the middle of great beach and restaurant options. Restaurant was excellent very good value for the money
I like just two persons that was nice while we was there, bartender and one guy that help us to find a good room. The persons in the counter no help us with our question because the director wasn’t available for give answer for our requirements.
