We got the swim out room I loved the privacy we got when we didn’t want to be in the main pool. The food was rarely ever hot which made the taste of it subpar. Diamond club you get room service which was nice. Cleaning staff did well maintaining the property. Our butler Jhoenmy was amazing, he helped us with excursions, transportation, luggage pick up and drop off, reservations. You name it and he was on it. Must try the steak house and hibachi for dinner. Dorado for breakfast.

I wanted to give this a great review but I just couldn’t. This past weekend my cousin & I stayed at the Royalton Hideaway Punta Cana (Adults only side) for my birthday November 13th-18th. We were also Diamond Club members which included a butler, swim out pool & certain amenities that were strictly exclusive to Diamond Club members. (luxury). Boy was that a lie. It’s not worth it! Upon entry into our room.. it smelled like old water/mildew & mold. I kept smelling an odd smell coming from the AC vent and mentioned it to our butler. He arranged for us to have our rooms switched the next day. Guess what? Same thing in the new room except for this time.. I could actually spot the mold on in the showers. I knew I wasn’t crazy. I kept smelling something but couldn’t quite frankly put my nose on it. At that moment I found it. My cousin kept saying that our sheets on the bed felt wet. The housekeeping manager came & instead of actually fixing the problem.. they painted over it 😒 When you’re a “Diamond Club” member as they put it.. it pretty much means luxury. Not with this place! Diamond club is not worth it I promise. Do not spend your hard earned money with this hotel! Oh yeah, I also wound up SICK with a COLD coming back home from the air quality & mold. They also tried to fake accommodate us/ shut us up with a little 25 minute massage on the day before we were leaving which was like at 4:30pm in the evening and we had dinner reservations at 7:30pm that night.

This is a very confusing property. We were staying at the Hideaway via adult only portion of the hotel.. There is no real separation between the adult only and the rest of the property. Basically it’s a wall that separates the pool and then a separate area for lounge chairs for the beach.. aside from one dining facility. All other dining facilities are mixed with the rest of the resort. I arrived late. I was given my room and when I got there, there was a musty smell. The bathroom had mold, and the glass shower door covered in water spots. Luckily they had a room available and they made the switch this room. The bathroom was cleaner. However you can tell that it’s dated paint chips all over the shower railing. The towels are old. My room had no hand towels and a wash cloths until two days after I arrived. My friend asked for hand soap, and as I write, this still have not gotten in their room . The furniture is also dated and looks very used. Given that this was marketed as an upscale luxury autograph collection, Hotel I am very disappointed. The saving grace is the kindness and friendliness of the staff..

Todo el resort es una maravilla, tienen un sin fin de actividades. Me hospedé en el hideaway solo para adultos, el acceso a la playa, piscina, restaurantes es fácil y rápido. Pero la atención de todo el personal fue la cereza del pastel, en especial la de Smerlin. Ella se encargó de que nos sintiéramos como reynas aquí. Gracias a todo el personal, siempre alegres y atentos! Regresamos a México con muy buen sabor de boca de Punta Cana! Por cierto el mar, zero sargazo, todo espectacular!!

This was by far the worst resort experience I’ve ever had. The room was disgusting—bugs crawling around and visible mold on the walls and in the bathroom. The smell was unbearable, and it was clear the place hasn’t been properly cleaned or maintained in a long time. What made things even worse was the staff’s response. When we brought up the issues, they acted like it was normal and did nothing to fix the situation. For the price we paid, the conditions were completely unacceptable. If you care about cleanliness, safety, or basic comfort, avoid this resort at all costs. It ruined what should have been a relaxing vacation.

Something important to know about the property is the Royalton Resorts are all bunched up together, and Hideaway is simply one specific building with its own pool and bar, and also access to a restaurant for Hideaway guests only. The Royalton property is quite huge as a whole, so there is much to see. If you plan on doing an excursion that isn’t offered/sponsored through Royalton, then realize you’ll have to walk a majority of the way back to the front of the property. We had a group of 30, some of which were elderly, and that was not expected, so you see the issue. Other than that, most staff are very nice and wish to give you wonderful service. I couldn’t suggest the hydrotherapy session in the spa enough, definitely prepared me for my travels back home.
