Dreamlike

I have no words for this beautiful place. Clean, spacious, dreamlike and overall wonderful. Ana María, the owner assisted us with everything and was the kindest lady. Even when we continued our travels she said to just contact her if we ever needed help. If you have the opportunity to visit - don't hesitate. It's a little oasis run by a most wonderful lady.

We had a lovely stay at Villanita for 5 days in March, before setting off to Torres del Paine National Park. Ana speaks excellent English and is beyond helpful. She arranged a taxi to pick up my husband at the airport when his plane got delayed and arrived at 1 am. She printed out ticket confirmations for us. She had great shopping suggestions (Balfer in Zona Franca for hiking gear) and even gave us a ride there. The two bedroom cabin is very cute with a full kitchen. There's a grocery store around the corner so it was easy to cook some of our own meals. It was about a 10-15 minute walk to the business district, but the area felt safe and it was extremely quiet. Highly recommend Ana and Villanita!

The good news was that the property was clean with a good shower and a comfortable bed. There was a kitchen with everything needed to prepare food. This unit did not include breakfast and there were no restaurants close by. The bad parts: it's in a very sketchy neighborhood, although the property itself is behind a locked gate, it is not a neighborhood to walk around in at night. The light in the bathroom did not work, although the property manager tried to fix it, she brought the wrong light bulb and it was not fixed during our stay. Also, the toilet was broken, requiring manual flushing and turning off the water at the wall. Finally, the owner has stopped accepting anything but cash. She informed me of this after I had already left the States, luckily I had my debit card with me. Altogether not a very good experience.

The location is great. Anna is nice, the rooms were warm and clean and there was lots of hot water for showers. The negatives were: the bathroom needs work. There is mold in the shower and toilet was broken. Things look a little tired and worn out. Anna was sorry about the toilet and tried to fix it but could not. I had to reach into the tank to flush and eventually figured out how to put the flush chain back on the flusher but still have to leave the tank lid off to flush. The worst part was that I requested the laundry service. I thought there would a washer in the unit because the posting says “laundry”. I now understand this means laundry service. I used the service and paid a reasonable price BUT… I got our clothes back and they all reeked of cigarette smoke. The smell is unbearable so I am getting everything redone at a laundry service at our next stop. It was a waste of 18,000 CLP. Do not use the service unless you are a smoker and do not care. I would not stay here again.

Toller Bungalow mit Blick auf die Magellanstraße. Gute Heizung, gute Ausstattung. Hervorragend war der Empfang und die Betreuung durch die herzliche Ana Maria, die uns viele Tipps gegeben hat. Wir haben uns sofort zu Hause gefühlt.

Tuvimos una excelente estancia en Villanita. La Sra. Ana Maria nos hizo sentir como en casa. La propiedad muy limpia y accesible hacia todas las zonas de interés. A pesar de haber llegado noche, Ana Maria nos espero y no solo eso, nos acompaño explicándonos sobre las actividades que podríamos realizar aun siendo media noche. Este nivel de atención es invaluable.

Amazing host, beautiful cabin

A beautiful well-equipped cabana with great heating and shower. Had everything we needed as well as parking onsite. The best part though was Ana, who looked after us completely and spoke excellent english. As another bonus - Ana recycles and composts! Brilliant.

Ana Maria who owns and manages the property is very sweet and welcoming. We organized to have her pick us up at the airport and it was so welcoming to land and see a friendly face holding up my name on a white board. Not only is she super sweet and caring, her villanitas are PERFECT. We had 4 adults stay here, perfect for couples and families. It had a kitchen with everything you needed, a bathroom with a shower and an amazing towel rack that warmed our towels and dried the clothes that got wet in the rain, and most importantly the bedrooms were clean and the beds and sheets were COMFORTABLE. We spent 3 weeks in South America and paid for hostels and hotels that ranged from $12 USD- $600+ USD and I will say that Ana Maria's Villanitas was one of our favorite stays. Highly highly recommended! Also, walkable distance to the nearby markets, food places, etc. We definitely would come stay here again.
