The staff at Melia were absolutely fantastic, friendly, and helpful even during the uncertain times recently. The property was very clean, some of the rooms are a bit outdated, specifically the bathrooms but it's a small thing. They had nightly activities and a large pool, we only wish there was an adults only area but understood this is an all ages property. We loved our meal at Fish House.

All the staff were very friendly, mainly Jesus who surprised us with a courtesy at the spa when we arrived at the facilities. Clean room, great Ocean view and Family friendly. Definitely if you are looking for a hotel to vacation where the staff is attentive to your needs, this is definitely a good place to stay.

The staff were all amazing, so caring. Even in the difficult security situation that arose during our stay, they handled in fantastic and worked hard to keep everyone safe and happy. The fish house was amazing, and all the activities available throughout the day were awesome. Hotel was so clean, and it was so nice having the room cleaned daily. Great margaritas as well!!

The room was amazing, everything was super close by (i.e. the buffet and pool) and the staff, I was amazed by how personable everyone was. We were unfortunately there during the incident of El Mencho, though with that said, every staff member worked twice as hard to make all the guests comfortable and as unbothered as possible.

The newly renovated room in building 1 were very nice, our housekeeping lady was awesome, she hummed her way around the room as she cleaned it. The grounds are very well kept, every day they were sweeping and washing the main walkway to the pool. The staff were just delightful, especially the bar staff around the pool. My only negative comment was how loud the music was around the pool, very distracting for those of us that were reading. As well, the Karaoke was way to loud, we could hear every word in our room with the patio door shut.

We only spent 4 nights here but we’re here during the recent cartel violence. We can’t say enough good things about the staff and management at this resort. They remained calm and very pleasant and accommodating in what must have been an even more fearful time for them being away from family. Many had to work extra shifts without going home since all transportation locked down and those that were working Sunday had to sleep in cots since they couldn’t leave for two days and new staff couldn’t come in! Nothing but positive comments about how clean the resort was and how great the staff at all levels were. Would definitely recommend.

Rooms were clean, beach was great, food was good! Everyone was nice except for one very negative encounter with a buffet staff who spoke to my boyfriend in a very demeaning matter after an issue had already been dealt with, with another staff member.

This is our third time staying at Melia Puerto Vallarta, and we love it. We had a little trouble when we got to Melia the first day, they give us a room away from our group and there was some noise because of the remodeling they had going on, after we spoke to the receptionist they give us a different room, bigger and it looked like it was recently remodeled. Great staff all of them super nice, from receptionist, waitress, entrainment crew everyone was so nice. Great food. I love Melia for sure we will come back!!

Clean room, excellent staff, wonderful grounds, we loved the turtles. Did not give it 5 stars only for the food. It was not bad per se just very little flavour except salt, we did find their pasta/omelette/beef carving stations during different meals were wonderful and had the best flavour. I would not recommend the mole y taco. So many reviews said it was great, so we tried it and everyone was let down. The pool was great, staff was always friendly and helpful. Our toilet broke (something in the back tank) and they were there within 3 minutes of our call to fix it.

The staff was wonderful, the resort was clean and well maintained, and had everything needed to keep us entertained. Although a lot of their food is naturally gluten free, we couldn’t really be sure what we could eat and sometimes even the chefs seemed unsure. If there had been gf options or better signage I’d have rated the Melia 5 stars.

Room was good buy needed some repair. Staff is excellent particularly Eduardo at the entrance. Only negative was check-in where we were given a room we had not requested. The man supervizing the front desk could not have been less helpful and told us that we would have to live with it until our room became available. Fortunately on the advice of a staff member, we went back to the front desk and the lady supervisor worked to solve our problem. She was terrific. Otherwise we loved staying at the Melia.

Everything was perfect. The room was cleaned, the housekeepers were amazing by stocking our fridge each day. We found plenty of things to eat. The pool was not crowded and the service was amazing. It gets four stars because half of our party got sick after eating in the fish house have did not even though we had the same thing. I would definitely recommend going back.

The room was ground floor, which is till 6' off the ground; love that. The convenience of this for access to the pool & restaurants was perfect. The room was clean but we did have to remind the cleaning staff to replenish certain items a couple times, but they were very good and yes, we tipped them every day. The little slippers were perfect! The restaurants, all of them, were excellent. The service and staff were very friendly !!

It’s like lipstick on a pig. There are two sides in the resort. On one side the rooms are very dated. On the renovated side, all they’ve done is put a coat of paint on everything including the furniture on their renovated side. They also changed a few wall outlets to allow for more usb jacks on the renovated side of the resort. No prep work was done prior to painting. The linens are worn out and the pillows stink. The air conditioners are basically fans that stay on high. The rooms never actually reach the desired temperature. We were moved to three different rooms. The first two smelled like damp basements. The third room couldn’t draw moisture out of the room and leaked it back onto our luggage. They need to clean the air conditioners. Smart TV’s in the rooms but no high speed internet for streaming. TV’s still on cable even though there is wifi but the wifi was too slow. Food was mediocre and selection was very limited. Don’t get me wrong, the food was fresh but basic. The cooking staff, servers and housemaids were great but you can see they have to work with limited resources from Melia.
