Beautiful property...our room had two bathrooms, two bedrooms with a patio overlooking the ocean. Simply breathtaking. Friendly and very helpful staff. Please ask for Octavio in the restaurant, he is hilarious and a great server. Carlos at the bell desk also very professional and helpful. Incredible value and unforgettable location.

We had an amazing stay at Barceló Puerto Vallarta. It was more of a quiet resort, lots of older folks and not many kids, although they did have some activities for kids. Lots of available loungers with poolside drink service. very relaxing. Food was amazing, not just bad Americanized food. Lots of drink options as well. Our room was a premium king suite that had great AC, lots of room, and was very comfortable. Only downside is the beach is small and the sand isn’t super soft so it hurt to walk along the beach in some spots. Upside is that there’s enough pool space and other loungers to make up for it. Would definitely stay again!

The location of the resort was beautiful. Staff were nice. Buffet was average and could use a few more selections and better quality. The Buffett omelet bar at breakfast was quite good. This is the first all inclusive I’ve been to where you can’t get something to eat in a wet bathing suit and you’re not allowed food at the pool.

Our stay at Barceló was absolutely terrible. From start to finish, nothing met even basic expectations especially considering how much we paid. The food was awful: low quality, poorly prepared, repetitive, and often cold. It felt more like cafeteria food than a resort dining experience. Definitely not what you expect from a “luxury” resort. The hotel itself was dirty and poorly maintained. Common areas were unclean, rooms felt neglected, and overall hygiene was seriously lacking. The resort looks run-down and nothing like the photos or marketing. Everything about this resort was below par. Service was unhelpful, the atmosphere was chaotic, and there was zero attention to detail or guest satisfaction. To make matters worse, the beachfront was very small nothing like the relaxing beach resort experience we were promised. This was a huge waste of money. We paid a premium price and received a budget, substandard experience. I would not recommend this resort to anyone and will never return.

Room was great , resort is quiet enough to sleep early at night if that’s what you choose to do , very clean resort , staff are fantastic, food was pretty good most of the time , the only thing I didn’t care for was having to book dinner every day for the same night by lining up very early for 15-25 min and most times having to eat at 9 pm , other then that 4 out of 5 from me .

Rooms: comfortable bed/pillows/sheets/towels, good shower, spacious, lovely balcony. Pools were great. Poolside service excellent. Food was tasty. Seaside massage was amazing! (Ask for the RMT’s certificate so you can claim it through insurance.) It’s worth it to get the premium level upgrade. The only con is that the beach is really small and the riptide is strong, so swimming can be challenging and “long walks on the beach” are not happening. The town of Mismaloya is also not very walkable. If wandering and exploring are your thing, this might not be the best choice. However, if you plan to lounge/float/sip by the pool you will love this hotel.

We had a truly lovely time at Barcelo. The staff were lovey, the room was clean, the facilities are very nice. We paid for the premium level and would not recommend it as we didn’t find it was worth it. The room was on a higher level which did offer a beautiful view and we did enjoy eating at the restaurants every night instead of the buffet but despite being promised priority reservation

First of all resort is far from the Airport, paid lot for Transportation to and from resort. Second for the delux room choice, I was only allowed upto floor 3 and got room 1302 which was at the end of the building. Balcony didn't get ocean view or sunset or any resort view. All blocked by Palm trees. Room door was not properly enclosed, which allowed lizards and insects to enter the room. I found one lizard in my luggage when I came back after outing. Reception staff was not responding to my concern from day one for the room change. As per them I booked through expedia non-premium room, so doesn't have much choices for room above floor 3 in building 1 and building 2 only have suites. Which was lie. In premium lounge as well as speciality restaurants, there was no choices for vegan or vegetarian guests. Most of the time it was spanish and local mexican food varieties for lunch and dinner. Beach was very small and shared with local village visitors. As per mexico advisory, Mismaloya beach water was not safe for swimming due to some bacteria infection. I will not visit this resort again.

Room was good food nothing great just ok typical buffet food Service can improve. I understood the all inclusive concept meaning everything was included for instance gratuity (service tips ) were part of the deal. Already paid with price of the package. I also knew tipping was an option if one wanted to do it after the fact. I definitely saw the difference in service when employees were tipped additional money. I get it everyone needs to be compensated accordingly. I just know I had to get my own drinks most of the time. In the three days I was there I got offered once a drink by the pools! Not the best customer service And construction on the beach was another negative. The view from the restaurant was a big digging construction machine !! Not the best !

The rooms were lovey and huge! We did notice it always smelled musty though. The staff were excellent - very efficient and pleasant. The setting is stunning - surrounded by lush mountains and the ocean and gorgeous landscaping. Fabulous pools! We felt the food was pretty lacklustre except the Mexican buffet which was fabulous. The drinks were pretty blah. Too sweet and seemed to taste a lot like sugar syrup rather than juice. The elevator situation was terrible - one tiny elevator for the entire tower! The other one was broken the entire time. The spa was wonderful - had a fabulous massage on the patio with the waves in the background.

We liked the pool and the beach a lot, staff were friendly, and the balcony was lovely. Need to consider updating the rooms (our entry door came off the hinge, which was fixed the next day, our coffee maker did not work, and the shared coffee machines were out of order more often than not, clean the shower area in the room (1413), one of the two elevators was broken for the stay, the food was just ok, and when I injured my foot, the hotel asked for $42 USD per day to rent. I declined and walked around on a broken foot for the week, which when I returned home they said made it worse. Seems it would be nice to rent them for minimal amount or free for guest comfort.
