The hotel is an old building (probably early 1900's?) that has been re-tooled to work with today's more modern needs. Having said that, I don't think it hit its intended goal. Expedia notes this as a 3.5 stars - I believe that represents the hotel amenity level. In reality, it is a 2 star hotel at best. The rooms are spare, lighting is dim, bathrooms are tiny, towels are threadbare and not enough of them. The bed was comfortable, but there was not really a bedside table that worked (it was a small table, about 12"x12", no shelf). There was an outlet nearby the bed for charging. One of the two chairs in the seating area looked like it needed repair, the staff was friendly, but not overly helpful, with no phones in the rooms and spotty wi-fi at best. The TV didn't connect well to any of the entertainment apps provided. Lastly, we stayed for 3 nights and end of day 2, I had to ask about housekeeping services, as our room hadn't been attended to. The front desk staff apologized that they "missed" servicing our room and the the cleaning staff had left for the day. He brought up some clean towels. Overall, I was so underwhelmed by the hotel that I considered moving to another one.

The elevator is a very old style that requires you to pull the heavy metal gate aside to enter and exit. Not so great.

Overall it was a great stay. Not a good place for a light sleeper. Have to admit the water didn't get very hot for showers. Good restaurant on site, im from the area and being out after dark in the area can be skeptical for the single traveler. For a quick in and out stay would stay again!

The rooms seriously need a fridge and a micro wave, I feel so uncomfortable giving my food items to the staff to put in their general fridge downstairs. Also the cleaners don't clean the rooms always and when they do, they will just take out only the trash and that's it. They wouldn't arrange the room or the bed.

The hotel is aesthetically very pleasing and well located, but the on-site karaoke bar was a huge miss for us. Somehow we didn't realize this was in the lobby of the hotel when we booked, and it was incredibly disruptive and loud starting at 7pm. By 10pm, we had to ask to move rooms to a higher floor to get away from the noise. The rooms are stylish and decently appointed, if not a bit sparse. I was looking for a fun getaway for myself and my teenage daughter but the "cool" vibes ultimately backfired on us and robbed us of a relaxing stay.

This hotel was a cute idea but the property felt like it was way past its prime even for a boutique hotel. The room was bare bones: no closet, no full-length mirror, no amenities like a fridge or coffee maker or minibar, no safe, rug was threadbare. Bathroom was so tiny it was actively hard to shower and there was nowhere to put anything. The cafe downstairs seemed like it had at one point been a fully stocked really nice little cafe, but there was never any food in the baked goods area, the shelves were empty, and the area behind the counter was mostly used for storage. The staff were all really nice but also really young, like college students. All in all this place had a haunted vibe, not as in ghosts, but as in a place that was a fraction of its former self. Can’t say I’d stay there again.
