I was wary based on previous reviews but every aspect of the stay from start to finish exceeded every expectation from the room, the bathroom, the parking, the breakfast, the in room pour over coffee, and the location

Excellent stay! We were welcomed with complimentary blueberry wine and the concierge helped carry our bags to our room. Noting that they told us we'd receive a text with a link to order breakfast food, and we never received anything. Had to go down the street to purchase breakfast!

This quaint little place was absolutely perfect for our girls trip. It was cozy, comfortable, and the beds were incredibly comfortable—exactly what we needed after a day of exploring. We especially loved the complimentary blueberry wine; such a thoughtful and fun Maine touch! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this charming place to anyone visiting the area.

The francis is a beautiful hotel. The staff are attentive and friendly. The amenities are next level, for example, the mini bar was full of local, Maine products at logical prices. I would definitely recommend!

Wonderful old building turned into a boutique hotel. Very comfortable and the location was great. For a longer stay ( we were there 3 nights) more variety at breakfast would be nice but for us it was fine. The restaurant next door was an unexpected bonus ( the food and staff were incredible). On site parking was also a plus.

The Francis is an "old bones" hotel that has been updated to a 21st-century experience. The staff was attentive to our every need and up to date on the local area. The Hotel is just west of the Arts District and has many neighborhood restaurants within walking distance. The room was clean and comfortable and had a small reading area. The bathroom was modern and clean. Breakfast was delivered to our room in the morning from a local bakery. The room had a "pour-over" coffee pot with instructions that made some great coffee and an electric kettle for my wife to enjoy hot tea at any time of the day. Special shout-out to Devin at the front desk for his recommendations and assistance.

Location is good. Rooms are nice, modern, very clean. Breakfast was not great and monotonous for a 3 day stay. The staff over communicated in my opinion by text which some people might feel is good, but I found a bit fatiguing.
