We recieven a warm welcome, had an excellent room, high Quality, including fresh fruit, stunning view from terras and swimming pool. Breakfast buffet, with fresh pressed orange juice and eggs on demand. Diner also excellent. We had a wunderful time.

Excellent hotel, breakfast was amazing and was available until midday. We found this super helpful as we could do an early morning hike and come back and still have breakfast. We ate in the restaurant which was excellent too. Can’t fault the hotel, we would definitely stay again! Thank you!

Just got back from there and it exceeded expectations in every way. The restaurant was exceptional and you cannot beat having it right there! The room was fabulous. Staff was so friendly. Five stars. Will definitely be back! If you are reading this, just book it. No other place on the island compares.

We stayed 4 nights at the hotel and should have stayed more - we were simply amazed. It is a super cute boutique hotel with an amazing view, very nice staff and delicious food. We felt very comfortable and would say it’s the perfect place to enjoy a relaxed holiday. It is a must to have a car though, but parking is available at the hotel.

Unique property with great attention to detail. Thoroughly enjoyed dinners on the patio overlooking the ocean. Staff were very attentive and made sure the experience was enjoyable. Location is well suited for day trips throughout the northern and western parts on the island.

We had a perfect stay. Everything was great! Starting from the greetings for my birthday with chocolates and a bottle of sparkling wine, ending with dinners and amazing ocean view that is there from the terrace. The hotel is located among the banana plantations on the hill, and feels peaceful and calm. Staff is friendly and attentive, helped us with local recommendations. But some nights we just didn’t want to leave, so stayed for the dinner in the hotel restaurant, which is amazing with great food.

A Lovely Place for a Short Break

This is a unique property and it makes for a lovely quiet break. It takes a bit of bravery to drive up the narrow street to the hillside location - don't hire a big car. But a car is essential, as there is little close by. Even the walk to and from the very rocky beach isn't for the faint hearted (and that isn't by the steeper direct walking route). Our superior sea view room was small but lovely. However at the top of the building the windows are tiny - a great sea view, but for one person at a time. The pool is tiny and would look crowded if more than two got in at any one time. Oh and the loungers are really uncomfortable - but then why would you stay by the pool all day? It's not that kind of place. What is great here is the food and the service. Whether it's the simple but perfect buffet breakfast, or the wonderful quality of the dinner in the restaurant. And indeed the snack menu by the pool if you do choose to brave the loungers. Absolutely yum, every time. The menu doesn't change though, so choose this place for a short break, not a long holiday as I imagine it could get boring. The staff are all young, but so helpful friendly and not over eager. Perfectly pitched. This is a wonderful place to base yourself if you want to travel around during the day, but return in the evening to a beautiful meal and a calm romantic atmosphere.

Pour rester le plus objectif possible, je dirais que l’hôtel est idéal pour les voyageurs en quête d’authenticité (cadre, environnement, architecture….) Cependant, ne cherchez pas la tranquillité absolue, car l’ancien édifice réhabilité en hôtel reste mal insonorisé. Nous avions une chambre au 1er étage où nous avions l’impression d’avoir les voisins dans la salle de bain. Non pas que ces derniers étaient bruyants, loin de là, mais la conception et le cloisonnement ne sont pas dignes d’un hôtel de cette catégorie sans parler du simple vitrage… J’imagine tout autant la réciprocité…. Hormis cela, l’accueil est correct et mériterait néanmoins un peu plus de sourire de la part de certaines hôtesses, déjà accoutrées d’une tenue plutôt austère. Quant à la cuisine, elle est de qualité. Le petit déjeuner est complet et servi à table. J’apporte une mention spéciale à Orlando pour sa bienveillance, son professionnalisme et son sourire. Le reste de l’équipe ne démérite pas non plus évidemment. L’accès en voiture se mérite car très pentu et étroit. Il y a suffisamment de places pour se garer malgré tout. Enfin, la partie extérieure piscine/terrasse est splendide de par la vue et la tranquillité du lieu. Malheureusement, pour notre sejour en Mars, la météo n’était pas des plus clémentes pour profiter pleinement des lieux.

Et meget flot og stilfuldt hotel. Indretningen var afdæmpet og stilfuldt. Man følte sig hjemme. Der var rent og gjort meget godt rent i mellem dagene. Der var overforventninger ifht hjælp uden at de var påtrængende. Liggestole 10stjerner. Den eneste min var i følge min kæreste at poolen var lidt for lille.

This is a fabulous little hotel. A real gem. Great location, lovely room with balcony & stunning view (we stayed in the Ocean View Suite), delightful & friendly staff (Telma, Nicole & Raquel deserve a special mention), delicious breakfast (& dinner if required) and all spotlessly clean and well maintained. Access to the hotel is typical Madeiran - via a steep & narrow road - & parking can be a bit tricky, but all this adds to the experience. I cannot rate this hotel more highly, and it is great value as well.
