"Maria Cristina is undoubtedly a beautiful, characterful hotel. The Basque welcome from reception was really appreciated. We received a lovely glass of the local wine and the person who checked us in was so pleasant and helpful and that theme continued throughout. The reception and door staff couldn’t do enough. We had room 301. An upgrade from the garden view we had booked. A spacious room, very comfortable bed, Byredo products. On the downside there weren’t any tea / coffee making facilities!...

Although it is located a good walk from the centre, the hotel offers a calm elegant esthetic with a very interesting cinema theme. There are many excellent & bars in the immediate neighborhood, & even a laundromat 400 meters away. "What a surprising nice hotel on the hillside. Buses no. 19 and 45 have a bus stop next to it. The bus rise is pleasant and you pay €1.85 to get on. On two days, we walked to the old town. The room has a nice tv (all Spanish channrels, except two or three. You can still broacast yours smartphone or iPad and watch Netflix. Loved the shower and the warm water in the bidet.
