The Ceiba Villa by Otium
10/10 Excellent
"My husband & I stayed for 5 days, 4 nights. This place was EXACTLY as pictured in the photos. I didn't know if it was going to be as beautiful as it was in the photos, but I trusted the previous reviews and gave it a try. I'm so glad I did! It exceed our expectations in beauty, comfort, and pure tranquility. The bedroom, outdoor dining, and yard were spacious. This place was located at the edge of El Yunque Rainforest. It was a SPECTACULAR view to wake up to everyday, and the Rainforest Melody came to life at night! The kitchen and bathroom were smaller than we expected, but were still exactly as pictured, so that was on me. What I didn't understand before booking was total space available to us. From my understanding, after staying, is that it's a 2-story house. The owner, or caretaker, lives upstairs, and the 1st floor is for the guests. It's far (1 hour) from San Juan, but was super convenient when we booked the 3:30am ferry from Ceiba to Culebra. It was less than 20 minutes to the ferry. Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, 2 shower towels are provided in the bathroom (no face wash rags). Dish soap, dish sponge, and paper towels were provided in the kitchen. There is a washing machine outside. There's no dryer, but there's clothes lines & clothes pins. Bring your own laundry soap. It's good to note that you can get away with only speaking English in San Juan, but if you stay in rural areas, you should be, at minimum, well-established in basic Spanish."
