"The amenities are great with the good breakfast with a reasonable price. The stuffs are friendly and professional. We had a great experience with this hotel."
"I would still give this property a high rating because staying here is the best way to fully experience the beauty and tranquility of Emerald Lake.
However, my overall experience was affected by several issues.
Shortly after I booked through Expedia, I started receiving scam emails and phone calls almost every day. Fortunately, I recognized that the calls were not coming from Expedia's official phone number, so I was not scammed. Still, it was concerning that this only started after making my reservation.
The bigger issue happened at check-in. The front desk did not inform me that my booked room type was unavailable until I pointed out that my two reservations should have been two different type with one being more expensive. The manager then explained that Expedia had not updated its room inventory, so the room type I booked was no longer available. However, before booking, I had compared the room types on both Expedia and the hotel's official website, and they matched, so I do not believe this was simply an Expedia inventory issue.
I had to accept a different room type. The manager told me that Expedia had already been notified and that I would receive a refund for the difference. Unfortunately, I have still not received any email or refund confirmation.
When I contacted Expedia, they said they had no record of this arrangement. I am now left caught between the hotel and Expedia, with no resolution."
"Cute little log cabin - really appreciated the complimentary porridge and granola bars! Staff were really helpful - someone came promptly to fix our fire when it got chilly which was great. We were toasty in no time! Best part is obviously the distance from Lake Louise - only a 20 minute walk. Would stay again!"
"Hands down this was the absolute best place we stayed while we were in Canada celebrating our 50th birthday's together (my husband and I)!!! I would very highly recommend staying here anytime! The views are fantastic, the rooms are so cozy, quaint and very clean. And the staff is great as well. Our room had a cozy little fireplace (even though we didn't need to use it, we loved the idea of it) that would be so romantic to use in the winter months. It was very quiet as well. The running water is straight from a glacier. No issue at all with getting cold or hot water instantly. Breakfast items are free for those who stay (one pastry or yogurt parfait per person), along with free coffee and/or tea. You can purchase to go lunches there for your hiking trips or road trips. We didn't get the chance to buy any, but they looked yummy! We had dinner one night during our stay and it was amazing! There is a fire pit with chairs around it next to the main cabin area where you check in and many people used it. You are supplied with firewood each night (you can purchase more if needed) and you also can get ice for free from them (usually 1/4 - 1/2 bag), which was helpful since there are no fridges in the rooms. We had a cooler with us so that is how we stored our food all week. Definitely worth the money to stay here!"
