"room 'rustic' style. clean. single room w one queen bed was on the small side, adequate for overnight stay for two. very economical esp. compared with local options. shower hot/cold adjustment slower than normal. heat in bathroom fine. unit in main room kept turning on and off and quite loud. we would stay again. would be interested to see how restaurant turns out. only snacks available now."
"The serve breakfast on weekends and we were staying over Sunday night and the owner offered bagels and cereal and allowed me to take a cup of milk for coffee the next morning. Always an easy check in and very quiet, friendly, and clean. It's better than any other place in the area!"
"A true old inn, private bathrooms, sitting room and a comfortable bed.
Coffee, snacks and breakfast items in each room.
The food in the restaurant was exceptional.
Friendly staff."
"Parking and check in were a breeze. The room was comfortable with charming touches like antique school desks for nightstands. We had full access to common rooms and the fridge had free drinks and snacks. The inn was very close to downtown with lots of shops and eateries. Continental breakfast includes fresh fruit, yogurt, huge bagels and scones, coffee and a great selection of teas. Joe was a pleasant and easy-going host. Would gladly stay here again."
"Really nothing wrong with the hotel or its staff. The problem was homeless people living in the parking lot after hours. Cars running outside in the lot all night. A new security policy needs to be implemented."
"The bed was comfortable and we slept well. The staff that met us to register accommodated us with a ground level room as needed. We found the hall and room to smell of cigarettes. The carpeting throughout the motel halls and room was old, dirty and outdated. The doors in the hall ways were scuffed with age. I entered the room about 9pm. I switched the light switch by the door and no light came on. I used my phone light to find a lamp by the bed to have light in the room. The furniture in the room was a desk and a bureau. These were all scratched and filthy. Grime was visible on the surface of the desk. The mirror in the main room had dust along its frame. The hot water for the sink does not turn on but stays cold. The shower had hot water. The towels had a smell to them. The ceiling in the bathroom was stained and the plaster was falling down from an apparent water leak on the second floor unit. The continental breakfast was absolutely poor. There were places to make toast and bagels. No tongs to get the items. You had to use your hands. The trash containers had automatic lids that the automatic part was broken on. You have to use your hand to lift the corner of the cover them go back to eating your toast. That's bad. All in all the management follows no standard operating procedures on cleanliness and upkeep. The employees lack the work ethic to step up and into their position."
