The room was clean but smelled of old stale cigarette smoke probably from decades of smoking in the room before it became nonsmoking. The room was a bit dilapidated but clean. Everything was clean. Could use some updating & renovations.

The bedrooms are nasty dirty. I bought disinfectant wipes to clean the room myself. The walls are dirty. The tubs are stained. The bath towels are stained. The breakfast food was okay. The OJ juice carafe empty after three people fills up the cups provided. The stairs are nasty dirty. The waffles are amazing. However the restaurants around there are all delicious. While taking a shower, the water and bathroom stinks.

Room needed updating. When we arrived there were no towels or toilet paper. The toilet showed worn areas in the tile it was on, and to the back of the toilet The light in shower/toilet area took awhile to light up, then when on, the light was dim and constantly flashing on and off. The drain in the tub would not drain unless cap was unscrewed. No soap in the shower and the shampoo dispenser was detached and near empty.The hair dryer had as much power as someone blowing through a straw. The furniture was old and worn. The lamps were rusty. Inadequate electrical outlets near bed to plug in devices. There was dust on the furniture and the floors needed a good cleaning.The heating/AC unit was slightly detached from the wall allowing cold air to come into the room, causing the heater to be on constantly, never reaching the set temperature of 70 degrees. Lastly, I know that there was an ice/snow storm before we arrived, and Virginia was having difficulty clearing streets and reopening schools, but the walks around the hotel were icy and needed salt or sand, badly. The positives were that the bed was comfortable and the employer who checked us in was courteous and when called about the missing supplies, was quick to retrieve them.

This looks like an older hotel that is holding on by its fingertips. When you enter the room the light switch doesn't work. They had an extension cord that plugged a lamp, microwave, refrigerator and TV that was held off the floor by the lamp. Tub was painted and it was peeling as well as the ceiling. There appeared to be mold on the ceiling. We went to see if they had coffee in the breakfast area and 4 of the sconce lights flickered. My husband doesn't usually take pictures but he took a bunch so he could report this hotel if he gets a chance. We expected so much more from choice hotels.

Housekeeping issue

We found Blood all over the lamps bulb and wall after arriving in town and checking in at midnight so wasn’t able to address it . I would have thought house keeping would have noticed this . That was a first for me finding all that.
