"The staff was great but other than the historical relevance, I found the Hotel underwhelming and the price point unjustified. I found a lack of respect for maintenance. Public bathroom smelled of urine. The lock on the stall door was broken and replaced with a cheap slide lock. I would have expected a higher level of concern for maintaining the integrity of the property. I’ve stayed in nicer hotels, with more amenities, exceptional service and a “Wow factor” that was missing from here. Just basically felt like the most impressive part, was the history and the rest was left "

"Hi, I feel parking was really stressful as well as no water bottles provided during the stay. The view was not better as we were promised and the receptionist did not even make an effort to accomodate us. I had called prior that will be reaching premises by around 11pm and we had the lowest floor alloted to us. Not a good experience overall."

"The standout at this hotel is their staff. Front desk, car valet, housekeeping, bar staff you name it all were excellent. The young female bartender was fantastic (side note to her - my daughter chose UBC:)) as was the housekeeper who was happy to smile and say hello. I wish I knew their names so I could give a more personal thank you. Rooms were quiet and a good size with excellent amenities. Take note when booking that the atrium rooms do not have a window to the outside. While there is some light coming in from the glass roof of the atrium you need to keep your curtains mostly closed because of the artificial light that’s shines in. All in all would highly recommend."

"Room was clean and very spacious. The staff are all pretty friendly, gave us a voucher for 2 glasses of wine for free which was unexpected but a really nice surprise! Gave us a chance to check out the rooftop bar. The room is so quiet, you can’t even tell you’re in the Byward market so we really enjoyed that. Valet was easy and really convenient as I didn’t have to worry about parking downtown. Close walk to everything. Would definitely stay again!!"
