Thus, whole arboretum Garden was created around the Abbey, the valuable work of brother Syméon and his 3 gardeners who must constantly take account of moisture, acid Earth, Earth shaded or full sun, and the needs of each plant.

The Abbey :
Upon his return from the second crusade, at the end of the year 1149, cardinal Etienne de Bar, Bishop of Metz founded the Abbey of Autrey in which is installed a community of canons regular. It is built in a baroque style.

Aussi, ils m'ont quand même donné une chambre, mais j'étais seule dans l'hôtel sans personnel, ni petit-déj/restauration. "We were welcomed by Aurore who advised us where to park.Very helpful and friendly. Our room was a good size and looked like it had been recently refurbished as the bathroom was excellent.Great toiletries too. Very comfy bed.We could have used the pool and spa free of charge but didn't have time as it was just a overnight stop travelling through France."
